Raj Kundra Breaks Silence On Rs. 60 Crore Fraud Allegations By Deepak Kothari, 'The Truth Will...'

Raj Kundra is a well-known personality in the entertainment industry, who has often made headlines for both good and bad reasons. Recently, Raj and his wife, Shilpa Shetty found themselves in the middle of a huge trouble, where he was accused by businessman, Deepak Kothari of Rs. 60 crore fraud. Since the allegation, Raj Kundra has maintained his silence, but recently he addressed the issue. 

Raj Kundra denies doing anything wrong in this fraud case

Businessman and actor, Raj Kundra is all set for his upcoming Punjabi movie, Mehar, and for promoting the same film, he was in Delhi. During the promotions, he was asked about the ongoing fraud case against him and Shilpa, to which he very calmly replied by mentioning that he is hoping for the actual truth to come out. He shared that he hasn’t done anything wrong and he never will do any such thing in future as well. While talking to India Today, he said:

"Let's just wait and watch because that's life for you, and we have not said anything about it because we know we haven't done anything wrong. The truth will come out eventually. We've never done anything wrong in life, and we never will."

Deepak Kothari’s allegations against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty

The director of Lotus Capital Financial Services, Deepak Kothari, had accused Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty of cheating him of Rs. 60.48 crore. Deepak claimed that he had given money to their company in between 2015 and 2016. Initially, he had said that the couple asked for a loan, but later convinced him to treat it as an equity investment instead, assuring him that he would still get regular returns.

Deepak continued to mention that in early 2016, Shilpa had given a written personal guarantee for the money but in September 2016, she resigned as a director and by 2017, he had realised that the couple might not return his money ever. 

Later, Deepak filed a complaint at Juhu Police station, but it was transferred to EOW as the amount was very large. Reportedly, Deepak wants the authorities to freeze the couple's bank account and assets. Even though, Raj and Shilpa have denied the allegations, EOW is still checking bank records and all related documents.
