Raj Shamani Spills How He Convinced Vijay Mallya For An Interview, 'Sir Aapko Podcast Pata Hai?'

Vijay Mallya, a popular and controversial figure, recently gave his perspective on leaving India after a bank loan default issue and being accused of fraud and money laundering. The industrialist left India in 2016, and recently, nine years later, he finally broke his silence on the whole ordeal. And the fugitive businessman chose Raj Shamani's podcast as the medium to tell his story, which became one of the most talked-about interviews of all time. Raj has now revealed how he convinced Mallya to do a tell-all interview. 

Raj Shamani reveals how he convinced Vijay Mallya for an interview 

Vijay Mallya has been absconding from India since 2016, after he was accused of a massive bank default, fraud, money laundering and more. The businessman whose face once used to be plastered on numerous billboards and whatnot, started living an elusive life in London. However, after 9 years, popular influencer and podcaster, Raj Shamani, brought Mallya back to the public attention with a more than four-hour-long interview. This video grabbed a lot of headlines with people wondering how and where Raj found Mallya, who has been hard to catch even by India's top officials. Kapil Sharma asked the same question to the podcaster in the upcoming episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show. 

Raj explained that he was once in a walk in London when he spotted Vijay Mallya. He went to the businessman and asked him, "Sir, aap mujhe jante ho?". Mallya said no, the podcaster revealed in the comedy show, which elicited a lot of laughter from the host, Kapil Sharma, the other guests and the audience. Then Raj said that he also asked Mallya, "Aap Podcast jaante ho?". The businessman said no to this question as well. However, Raj further revealed:

"Hum dono ne 2-3 ghante baat kari. Phir hume laga ki chalo kar lete hai, phir humne kar lia."
