Shweta Tiwari is one of the most popular 'bahus' of Indian television. Since her iconic portrayal of 'Prerna' in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, the actress has remained in the limelight. However, apart from her professional life, Shweta's personal life has also been in the spotlight. From her tumultuous first marriage to Raja Chaudhary to her messy divorce and custody battle with second husband, Abhinav Kohli, Shweta's love life has always been a matter of scrutiny. Recently, her first ex-husband, Raja, has shed light on her past relationship with Abhinav.
Shweta Tiwari had accused Raja Chaudhary of domestic violence and physical abuse. In a recent interview with Pinkivilla, he denied these accusations; however, Raja admitted chasing Shweta when she went to a friend's house and hitting other people. When asked who he had hit, the Bigg Boss 2 celebrity stated that it was someone his ex-wife referred to as 'brother'. Then Raja further stated that Shweta called everyone her brother, including Abhinav Kohli, whom she later married after her divorce from Raja. He said in the interview:
"Uske bhai the. Kehti toh sabko bhai thi. Arey Kohli (Abhinav Kohli) ko bhi bhai bhai kehti thi. 'Bhai hai mera, bhai ka dost hai'. Badme voh lover bann gaya, husband bann gaya. Bad story. "
Raja Chaudhary talked about his and Shweta Tiwari's daughter, Palak Tiwari. He said that after their arguments Shweta would take away Palak. Raja also stated that he has been given permission by the court to meet his daughter but his ex-wife doesn't adhere to this. He said that even Abhinav has been given permission to meet his son, Reyansh Kohli. However, according to Raja, Shweta would not bring the kids to the meeting at the time. Talking about visitation rights, he said:
"Court ki sunta kon hai. Voh nahi maanti court ke rules. Abhinav Kohli ko bhi mili hai court ki permission milne ki, kaha milne deti hai voh. Milne ke time voh vaha hogi hi nahi. Voh kabhi aayegi nahi bache ko like."
Raja also took up Shweta Tiwari's second ex-husband, Abhinav's cause and said that neither does he drink, nor is he threatening her, so why doesn't Shweta let her son meet his father. He said so because the actress had accused Raja of being an alcoholic and intimidating her, and cited this as a reason to protect their daughter, Palak, from her father. Hence, as per him, Abhinav should be allowed to meet his son, Reyansh, by this logic.
Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary tied the knot in 1998 and were a beloved small-screen couple. They also have daughter known as Palak Tiwari. However, following many fights that were publicised and accusations of domestic violence, the couple separated in 2007 and were officially divorced by 2012. A year later, Shweta married another TV actor, Abhinav Kohli. But this marriage also ended up in a messy divorce in 2019, followed by a custody battle for their son, Reyansh.
