Raja Raghuvanshi's Mom Said Sonam Had No Interest In Him, She Planned Murder Within Days Of Wedding

The Meghalaya murder case has shocked the entire nation to the core. A couple, Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam Raghuvanshi, who got married on May 11, 2025, set out for their honeymoon in Meghalaya on May 16, 2025. On May 23, 2025, they went missing, and the investigation brought some shocking details. Raja's dead body was later found in a gorge, following his wife's suspicious deed in the murder along with her alleged boyfriend and others. Now, some more details have surfaced, and they are all shocking.

Details about Sonam Raghuvanshi's relationship with Raj Kushwaha

As per a report by News18, Sonam Raghuvanshi's dad, Devi runs a business of plywood, which has an annual turnover of Rs. 12-15 crore. After his health condition deteriorated, Sonam's brother, Govinda, used to run the business. Raj Kushwaha, a 21-year-old individual, joined the company as a supervisor of the billing department with a salary package of Rs. 20K, while Sonam joined the company two years later, and that is how they met. Raj and Sonam reportedly got close afterwards. Raj was younger than Sonam, and thus, he used to address her as 'didi', to avoid any doubt around the family and co-workers.

Raja Raghuvanshi revealed to his mom that Sonam was not interested in him within days of wedding

Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam Raghuvanshi's wedding was fixed through the Raghuvanshi community's matchmaking tradition. Talking about Raja, he was a part of the joint family's transport business with a turnover of Rs. 8-10 crore. As per the reports in the Hindustan Times, Raja's mom shared that his son revealed to him that Sonam was not interested in him within days of their marriage. While she had no idea about Sonam's alleged beau, Raj, she asked Sonam about her not being interested in Raja. Sonam mentioned that she had some serious work in her office, which was keeping her away. Stating that it was her bahu, who made all the honeymoon plans, Sonam's MIL shared:

“He said she was not showing any interest. I asked her directly, but she said she was busy with office work. After that, she started talking to him more. She made all honeymoon plans too."

Sonam Raghuvanshi didn't like getting intimate with Raja Raghuvanshi, and planned his murder within 3 days of the wedding

On the other hand, reports claimed that, in the leaked chats, Sonam Raghuvanshi told her beau, Raj that she didn't like getting intimate with Raja Raghuvanshi. India Today reported that it was only within 3 days that Sonam had planned her husband, Raja's murder with her alleged beau, Raj. As per reports, along with Sonam and Raj, two more people were hired.

Reportedly, on the day Sonam and Raja left for their honeymoon, the former was on the call with Raj for more than 5 hours, which is suspected to be their talk to create the blueprint of the plan of committing the murder. For those who don't know, all of the suspects were detained, and they are currently in custody. Sonam reportedly said that she committed the crime, but later flipped her statement, saying she was abducted and abandoned. While she called herself the victim, the killer had reportedly mentioned that she had hired them.
