The cold-blooded murder of 29-year-old Raja Raghuvanshi has been sending shock waves throughout the nation. Amid the various chilling updates coming up in connection with the Meghalaya honeymoon murder, Raja’s sister, Shrasti Raghuwanshi has found herself in hot water for turning her brother’s death into content. Now, on June 11, 2025, Shrasti strongly reacted to the users who slammed her for turning the tragic incident into content in order to increase her views and followers.
For the unversed, Shrasti has been making videos on Raja Raghuvanshi since her brother and sister-in-law, Sonam Raghuvanshi went missing on May 23, 2025. However, a video posted by Shrasti on June 6, 2025, four days after Raja’s decomposed body was recovered, where she promoted a massage parlour in Indore, was deeply criticised and faced immense backlash. Due to the excessive public outrage, she later took down the video, but kept making content related to her brother’s wedding and calling for justice for the murder of Raja.
After facing immense backlash, for turning the tragic incident into a series of content, now, on June 11, 2025, Shrasti made another video to defend herself for making such videos. She claimed that if she hadn’t made the videos and if those videos didn’t go viral, then perhaps Raja’s killers would not have been found. Shrasti also said that she had seen many cases that get closed within 2 to 3 days, so she would do anything for her brother and ensure that he got proper justice. In her words:
"Aaj jo bhi log yeh bol rahe hai ki mere bhai ki maut ko followers or views mei barha rahi hu, toh aisa kuch bhi nahi hai. Agar mei post nahi karti, woh post viral nahi hote, toh shayad mere bhai ke katilo ka aj pata nahi chalta. Humlog agar chup baith jaate, toh aj yeh case 2-3 mein band ho jata. Humne kitne cases dekhe… Mujhse jo ban payega mei woh karunga mera bhai ke liye. Jisse ladna hoga.. jaha tak jana hoga, mera awaj mei woha tak pahuchaungi. Jisko jo bolna hai, woh galat bol rahe ho."
In the video, Raja’s sister got emotional and said that she was being trolled everywhere on social media. She also counter-attacked the public and asked what they were doing for her brother’s death. Shrasti said that instead of getting support for what she is trying to do for her brother, she is getting blamed. In her words:
"Mei har jaga dekh rahi hu, mujhe pata chal raha hai, Twitter pe, Facebook, Instagram, har jaga mujhe troll kiya ja raha hai… Aap log kya kar rahe ho mere bhai ke liye? Aap toh mujhe e woh kar rahe ho, jab aapko sochna chahiye ki ek beti apne bhai ke liye kaha tak awaj utha rahi hai. Aapko mera saiyog karna chahiye, saath dena chahiye. Toh aap log toh mujhko hi blame kar rahe ho. Toh mei kya bolu?"
Shrasti was slammed by users for posting wedding videos of Raja and emotional content related to Raja’s murder with hashtags like #trending #like #follow alongside serious hashtags like #justice. Internet users claimed that Shrasti has been doing this just to increase her social media reach and her followers. For the uninitiated, she is an influencer who posts content on her Instagram handle and claims to be deceased, Raja Raghuvanshi’s cousin sister. The screengrabs of Shrasti’s IG posts and insensitive hashtags went viral on Reddit. One Redditor thoroughly observed Shrasti’s Instagram profile and said that the latter never posted anything about her brother, Raja, until his wedding. The Redditor wrote:

"She's his cousin sister who is an influencer on Instagram. If you see her profile you aren't going to see this guy (Raja) before he got married. She attended his marriage and made reels during his marriage… when this news came of the couple being missing, she started making reels related to them, and side by side also making content for other things too. It might be right to say though they were cousins, she used his disappearance, and now his death for getting reach and followers (as you all mentioned about the hashtags used)."
