Shweta Tiwari is a well-known face in the Hindi Television industry. Despite her professional success, the actress' personal life has often been the centre of attention. For the unversed, Shweta had two broken marriages. She separated from her first husband, Raja Chaudhary, in 2012 and parted ways with her second husband, Abhinav Kohli, in 2019. From her first marriage, Shweta has a daughter, Palak Tiwari, while from her second marriage, she has a son, Reyansh. Now, in a recent conversation, Raja revealed that Shweta’s second husband, Abhinav, was quite depressed after the divorce, and the actress didn’t allow him to meet his son.
On June 27, 2025, Raja Chaudhary sat for an interview with Pinkvilla's Hindi Rush and discussed several aspects of his marriage to Shweta Tiwari. Among many things, he also revealed a fact involving Shweta Tiwari’s second husband, Abhinav Kohli. For the uninitiated, Abhinav and Shweta first met on the sets of the show, Jaane Kya Baat Hui and in 2013, the couple tied the knot. Initially, the duo gave the vibes of a match made in heaven, but soon after they welcomed their son, Reyansh, in 2016, their marriage hit a rough patch, and they parted ways in 2019. Shweta claimed that in her second marriage, too, she had to go through physical violence.
In the same interview, Raja shared what kind of bond he shares with Shweta’s second husband, Abhinav Kohli. He revealed that Abhinav was quite depressed after his divorce from Shweta Tiwari. In fact, when Raja was asked about what might have gone wrong in Shweta and Abhinav’s marriage, the former said that although it is difficult to say exactly what had happened, he suspects that a similar cause might be a reason for their marriage's fallout. In his words:
"Apna toh dostana sambandh hai yaar sabse, toh usse bhi dostana e hai. Accha hai. Dukhi tha bas woh bhi aur kya. Mein yeh hi kahe sakta hoon, ki woh dukhi tha. Kaafi dukhi yaar. The same thing, god knows. Kya ho raha hai do logon ke beech mein, woh kaise bata sakte hai yaar."
Further in the interview, Raja also shared that Abhinav was not allowed to meet his son, Reyansh. He talked about how Shweta used to treat her second husband, Abhinav. He also referred to himself and Abhinav as the 'victims' in the case and accused Shweta of being 'guilty'. In his words:
"Uske hisab se toh Shweta Tiwari usse ek boy ke tarah zyada issemal kiya usne usko, husband ke bajaye. Toh bola, ‘Mein toh bada ajeeb se woh lifestyle ji hai maine in dino mei.’ Sabka apna apna hai, isko kya kya bhugatna padhega, woh bhugat rahe hai. Par ek cheez common hai, usko bhi uske bacche bete se milne nahi de rahi hai… Dekho same story. Do victim aur ek kasoorwar."
Earlier in 2019, taking to her Instagram handle, Shweta Tiwari’s daughter, Palak, penned a long note clarifying that she was the victim of physical abuse, not her mom. For the unversed, according to reports by SpotboyE, Shweta had filed a police complaint against her second husband, Abhinav Kohli, accusing him of domestic violence. Palak wrote that Abhinav never hit her mother, Shweta, except on the day when the complaint was launched against him. An excerpt from her long note can be read as:

"I would like to address and clarify a few things out of my own rectitude: The media does not have the facts and they never will. I, Palak Tiwari, was on multiple occasions a victim of domestic abuse NOT my mother, except for the day that the complaint was filed he hadn’t hit my mother."
