Rajan Shahi Asked Hina Khan To Leave 'YRKKH' Set As She Refused To Support Shivangi Joshi As A Lead

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the longest-running television series in recent times. The show has broken all records and is currently in its fourth generation lead with all new characters and plotlines. However, the first and second-generation cast will forever be iconic and is still etched on the viewers' hearts. The story started with Hina Khan as a lead and moved on to Shivangi Joshi as the second generation's lead after the leap. 

For the unversed, Hina Khan left the show midway after the generation leap, during which the story's focus gradually shifted towards Shivangi Joshi's character, 'Naira'. At the time of her departure, neither the show's producer, Rajan Shahi, nor Hina Khan revealed the reason for her departure, but now, after years, Rajan Shahi has finally opened up about the reason.

Hina Khan's contract was terminated as she was not supporting Shivangi Joshi as a new lead

Hina Khan worked in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for six long years and became a household name due to the serial. However, Hina suddenly quit the show after the second generation took the lead position. Now talking about the same, the show's producer, Rajan Shahi, shared that Hina was not happy with the leap as the focus shifted towards Shivangi Joshi. Hina even refused to do certain scenes where she had to glorify Shivangi Joshi. In Rajan Shahi's words:

"One day, the shoot was going on and Hina didn't want to say some lines that were in support of Shivangi Joshi's character Naira. There was a certain level of script interference where Hina refused to say those lines. That day I told her she would have to do the scene as it was, when she didn't agree I told her to either shoot or leave the set."

Rajan Shahi further added that after the ruckus, Hina sat in her makeup room for the entire day and night and did not come to the set. After that, she was informed about her termination from the show. The next day, however, Hina came to the set and then again had a word with the associate, who informed her that she did not need to come to the sets as her contract with the show was terminated.

Rajan Shahi recently terminated Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe's contracts due to unprofessionalism 

A few days back, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehelata Hai was in the headlines for firing its main lead, Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe, within fifteen minutes. The production house issued a statement citing the duo's unprofessional behaviour as the root cause of the decision. An insider from the set revealed that the duo was in a romantic relationship and often caused delays in the shoot, which incurred losses to the production. On top of that, Shehzada was extremely rude and arrogant, and his behaviour was problematic towards the other cast and crew.
