Marriages are meant to be one of the most auspicious bonds in a person's life, but the trajectory has left many worried for the safety of their loved ones. While the case has several similarities to Meghalaya's Raja Raghuvanshi's murder case, there is one horrifying detail which has left everyone numb.
The victim, who was identified as Veer or Man Singh Jatav, was found dead at his home on the morning of June 8, 2025. While initially his wife, Anita, claimed that his death was a result of a sudden decline in health. The truth was unravelled over the next 48 hours after their son revealed what actually happened on the night of June 7, 2025. The nine-year-old boy became the key witness in the murder of his father by his mother, her lover and a group of hired contract killers.
According to the child's testimony, his mother, Anita, left the gate open that night deliberately. He added that around midnight, four men accompanied by a man he identifies as 'Kashi Uncle' aka Kashiram Prajapat (Anita's alleged boyfriend) entered the house. The kid shared that they found Veer asleep on his bed and murdered him by suffocating him. The boy was lying nearby, pretending to be asleep, but he saw everything. He was quoted as saying:
"I had just fallen asleep when I heard a faint sound at the door. I opened my eyes and saw my mother opening the gate. Kashi Uncle was standing outside; there were four more people with him. I got scared, I did not get up, I started watching everything quietly. They came to our room. I got up and saw my mother standing in front of the bed."
In the same statement, the nine-year-old boy revealed that Kashiram and the four assailants tortured his father and later choked him to death. He added that when he tried to get to his father, Kashiram picked him up and threatened him. The boy saw his father die in front of his eyes a few minutes later. He was quoted as saying:
"Those people punched him, twisted his legs and also choked him. Kashi Uncle had covered his mouth with a pillow. When I reached out for my father, Kashi Uncle picked me up in his lap and scolded and threatened me. I remained silent out of fear. After a few minutes, father died... then everyone left."
According to the police, Anita and Kashiram were behind the murder. They revealed that their extramarital affair was the reason behind the horrifying deed. Anita operated a small general store in Kherli. Kashiram, who is a local street vendor and sells kachoris, would frequently visit Anita's store, and the two reportedly grew close over time. Anita and Kashiram paid Rs. 2 lakh to four assailants to murder the former's husband.
The police further revealed that while Anita executed the plan by leaving the main door unlocked on the night of June 7, 2025, Kashiram arrived at the house on a motorcycle with the hired killers. Veer was attacked in his sleep and pronounced dead the following morning. Anita had planned to tell the relatives that he had died because of a sudden decline in health. However, the condition of the body, including clear injury marks, a broken tooth, and signs of suffocation, led to suspicions. A medical examination confirmed that Veer had been murdered.
