Rajeev Khandelwal Was In Love With Aamna Sharif, She Allegedly Dumped Him For Another Actor

Rajeev Khandelwal, the OG Shah Rukh Khan of television, was once the dream man of every girl. His character, ‘Sujal’ from Ekta Kapoor’s hit show, Kahiin To Hoga, made him a sensation, and girls drooled over his charming looks. Rajeev saw so much fame that he couldn’t handle it. He not only quit the show, but also rejected many films since it mirrored the character of 'Sujal'.

Born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Rajeev is the son of a retired Colonel. Since he belonged to a middle-class Army family, acting was a distant dream. However, he knew that acting was his calling and went on to pursue it. After beginning his career as a model, Rajeev began his career as a negative character in the show, Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat.

It was in 2002, when Rajeev was offered the show, Kahiin To Hoga, which changed his life for the better. He made his Bollywood debut in 2008 with the film Aamir, and since then, he has appeared in films like Table No 21, Shaitan, Samrat and Co., Fever, and Bloody Daddy, among others. The cult show, Kahiin To Hoga, not just changed his professional life but his personal life too.

Rajeev Khandelwal’s alleged affair with Aamna Sharif

As Ekta Kapoor cast Rajeev Khandelwal along with Aamna Sharif in the show, Kahiin To Hoga, people fell in love with their on-screen chemistry. For the unversed, Aamna played the role of Rajeev’s on-screen love interest, ‘Kashish’, in the show. Soon, people started speculating that Aamna and Rajeev are dating in real life, and it was their on-screen chemistry which paved the way for their off-screen love.

Rajeev Khandelwal was heartbroken after Aamna Sharif allegedly dumped him for another actor

After the show ended, Aamna Sharif went on to sign a film opposite actor, Aftab Shivdasani. Soon, it was speculated that the actress was seeing Aftab and had dumped Rajeev. In a 2008 interview with the Hindustan Times, when Rajeev was asked about the rumours of his affair with Aamna, he replied:

“I’m no longer linked with Aamna. The talk that we were seeing each other went on for three years. I think it has died its natural death now. No one links me with Aamna any more. In fact, I just..I read that Aamna is seeing another.. you know. Not me for sure.”

In the same interview, when the reporter asked Rajeev about his take on Aamna’s rumoured relationship with Aftab, he expressed his thoughts and said:

“Do you think they’re seeing each other? I haven’t been in touch with Aamna for the last three-four months. She was busy with her film. I have no idea about what’s happening in her life. If she’s dating someone, I’d be the happiest person on this earth. As long as she’s happy, I’m happy. I was very close to her and still am.”

In 2011, Rajeev Khandelwal married his long-time girlfriend, Manjiri Kamtikar. Manjiri and Rajeev’s relationship was hidden from the media, and hardly anyone knew about the actor dating Manjiri. When he hosted the show, Sacch Ka Saamna in 2009, Rajeev admitted in the media that he was not single, but he didn’t disclose Manjiri’s name.

But soon, a publication got their hands on Rajeev and Manijri’s picture, and he was told that the picture would be published in the newspaper the next morning. Since Manjiri belonged to a middle-class family and her parents were not aware of her dating Rajeev, the actor himself texted her father early in the morning and informed him about their relationship.
