When Rajesh Khanna Warned Daughter, Twinkle Against Akshay Kumar, 'Iski Lagaam Kheech Ke Rakhna..'

Daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna followed in the footsteps of her parents and joined Bollywood. She entered the film industry with her debut film, Barsaat, in 1995. Twinkle tied the marital knot with the love of her life, Akshay Kumar, on January 17, 2001, in an intimate wedding. The duo is blessed with two kids, Aarav and Nitara. Even after 23 years of their happy married life, Akshay and Twinkle still exude the charm of a newly-wedded couple.

Recently, a throwback video of Twinkle Khanna's father and legendary actor, Rajesh Khanna, has surfaced on social media. In the video, the superstar hilariously revealed that his son-in-law, Akshay Kumar, does a lot of 'hera-pheri' and sings a lot at this age. Rajesh was heard saying:

“Iss umar me toh humara jo jamai raja hai vo boht gaata hai. Kabhi vo Bhool Bhulaiyaa karta hai kabhi Hera Pheri karta hai, Hera Pheri 2 karta jai. Bohot hera pheri karta hai. Hera pheri wala he aadmi hai vo."

Rajesh Khanna further continued that he has also told his daughter, Twinkle to keep a check on Akshay Kumar. However, the doting father also asked his daughter to be careful about not pulling the reins too tight that they break. Rajesh said:

“Maine apni beti ko bhi bola hai. Maine kaha hai, 'Dekho Tina baba...', mai Tina bola hu kyuki Twinkle uska naam hai, 'Tina baba zara iski lagaam kheech k rakhna lekin itni bhi nahi kheechna ki toot jaayein'.”

Earlier, in one of her social media posts, Twinkle Khanna shared a fond anecdote about her father, Rajesh Khanna, which highlighted their extremely close bond. The actress-turned-writer recalled that her dad never wanted to see her heartbroken over breakups, so he gave her interesting dating advice. Twinkle mentioned:

“Don’t have one boyfriend, always have four at a time. That way your heart will never be broken.”

In a conversation with ace fashion designer, Masaba Gupta on her YouTube channel, Tweak India, Twinkle Khanna revealed her mother, Dimple Kapadia’s reaction to her decision to marry Akshay Kumar. Talking about the same, the actress shared that her mom clearly advised her to live with Akshay for two years before tying the knot. Twinkle admitted that her mother wanted her and Akshay to be more than 100% sure about their decision due to her own unstable marriage with her husband, Rajesh Khanna.
