Rajesh Kumar, who is loved for his comic timing on television, has been through a lot. Many of us know him as 'Roshesh' of Sarabhai V.s Sarabhai. He was loved for his self-proclaimed 'momma's boy' in the show, and his poetry was ultimate. Apart from portraying the character of 'Roshesh', he is also famous for his roles in the Yeh Meri Family, Neeli Chhatri Waale and many more. Not many know after finding no acting project, he turned into a farmer.
Rajesh Kumar revealed that to become an A-lister celebrity, it matters a lot with whom you are getting clicked. He shared that if he stand with A-lister celebrities, the whole perception of him would be changed. He shared that there was a time when people would happily get clicked pictures with him, but some avoided as he was a television actor. He said:

"Yeh cheej mai ne notice kara hai not naming people, but us samay kuch logo ko acha lagta tha aapke sath photo kichwane mein, kuch log avoid marte the. Ki television ka actor hai na, ki acha nahi lagega. Yeh bahut hota tha."
Recently, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajesh Kumar talked about being forced to sell vegetables outside his son's school. Rajesh shared that when he decided to start farming, nature played its game and his farm was flooded, ruining all the trees. Later, when he tried again, the same happened. After facing a lot of problems, he decide to drop farming and start his business called 'family farmer'. However, the startup didn't take off, and the actor decided to sell vegetables.
Narrating the emotional story with tears in his eyes, Rajesh revealed that he sold vegetables outside his son's school. After which, his son requested his teachers to buy vegetables from him. While people thought that he was mad, he wanted to show that it wasn't a menial job. He said:
"Logo ko laga pagal hogya hai. So mera beta third mein tha us time, mai uske school ke bahar chala gaya. Waha par table lagayi, saari subjiya sajayi, aur fir vo becha. Toh logo ko lag raha tha pagal hogya. Toh mere bete ne dekha ki papa school ke bahar baithe hai toh vo teachers ke pass gaya unko bola, 'Papa subji lekar aaye hai toh ap log aayege kya kharid ne ke liye.'"
Rajesh revealed that all the kids in his class went to different classes and spoke to the class teacher that his father was selling vegetables outside. Rajesh added that his motive behind it was simply that he is not doing something small. His idea was to draw attention as he was doing it after ending a lot of work. All the kids bought marigold flowers. He said:

"Phool the gendhe ke bahut saare. Toh mera beta godh mein baith kya, bacho ne line laga di ki gendhe ka phool le sakte hai kya. Toh sabne liya jab take activity khatam hua toh, jaate time dekha ki bacho ne pin se ek jhaar jaise podhe ko phool se saja diya hai. And next week, they asked me, 'Uncle aap her hafte aao.'"
In an interview with Rajshri Unplugged, Rajesh recalled that it was in 2017 when Rajesh decided to quit the world of showbiz to start farming. Rajesh revealed that it was a sudden shift in him as he wanted to work on his ancestral land in Bihar and start farming. He added that his father thought it was just a phase of him, but Rajesh was determined. He was quoted as saying:
"In 2017, I went back to my village from where I started — Gaya. Aur waha pr humari zameen thi, and I told him I wanted to become a farmer. His father thought 2-3 mahine ka bhoot hai, but it went on. And I totally gave in, and his family supported."
