Rajinikanth's Coolie Chikitu Song: Fans Hail The Megastars Unmatched Energy And Steps In His 70s

Rajinikanth is all set with his Tamil Film, Coolie, which be released in this year. Ahead of the film's grand release, the makers released the first single, featuring the megastar. The director, Lokesh Kanagaraj, on June 26, 2205, dropped a peppy number titled, Chikitu. And, oh boy! It left us nostalgic, as Rajinikanth's cool steps in the song made us feel like time had not moved a single bit for the 74-year-old superstar.

Rajinikanth's Coolie Chikitu sets the internet ablaze

Coolie Chikitu was released on SunTV's official YouTube Channel. The number was directed by T. Rajendherr, and the music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and Arivu. The song started with Rajinikanth's signature action moves. Anirudh was seen clearly stating that the vibe was not matching. Later, he was seen dancing with several other men, with large cut-outs of Rajinikanth in the background.

Jump cut to Rajinikanth's dancing in the movie. They both were seen dancing to the exact same steps. The director also joined Anirudh and got lost while dancing on the peppy and energetic track. The song seems to evoke the nostalgia and magic of Rajinikanth. It also seemed to be a tribute to the megastar and how no one can ever dance like him.

Netizens reacted to the Coolie Chikitu

It's been more than 22 hours since Coolie Chikitu was released on YouTube, and it had gained more than 5 lakh views. Netizens flooded the comments section. One user wrote, "Rajini sir screen presence + Lokesh taking + Anirudh bgm = Mass rampage in theatres." Another penned, "This generation should learn a lot from T Rajendran sir and Rajini Sir.... At 70's, their energy, dedication and consistent hard work.... Really speechless." 

A third user commented, "70s kids, 80s kids, 90s kids, 2000s kids, 2010s kids, 2020s kids - all kids are surrender for the one and only Thalaivar - Evergreen Superstar of Indian Cinema." A fourth one penned how Rajinikanth's presence is electrifying, "Superstar is the very identity of Indian cinema - a living legend whose presence electrifies the screen every single time. The energy, charisma, and sheer impact he brings is unmatched!"

Rajinikanth has charged a whopping amount for Coolie

It is worth mentioning that Rajinikanth is the highest-paid actor in the film. According to the buzz, he has charged over Rs. 260 crore to 280 crore. It has turned him into Asia's most expensive actor. The fee is even higher than the likes of Jackie Chan and Aamir Khan. Regarding the film's budget, it was made with a budget of Rs. 400 crore, making it the costliest film ever made in Indian cinema. The director is being paid Rs. 60 crore.
