On January 29, 2025, Rajkummar and Patralekhaa took to their Instagram handles to share a cryptic post featuring their silhouettes against a vibrant backdrop. without divulging into anything specific, the post's caption simply read:

"Something special is brewing. Can't wait to share it with you all. Stay tuned!"

With no further details provided, it did not take long for speculations to run wild. Many fans started assuming that the couple could be hinting at an upcoming parenthood journey. One comment read: “They must be having a child”, whereas another user wrote: “Are they expecting?”. Comments like “Expecting 1st”, and “Gonna be parents?” were also common in response to the IG post. 

Rajkummar and Patralekhaa's Instagram post also attracted several reactions from industry friends. Actor, Ayushmann Khurrana left a black heart emoji, while his wife, filmmaker, Tahira Kashyap and actress, Huma Qureshi responded with red heart emojis.

Rajkummar Rao quickly clarifies the pregnancy rumours

However, Rajkummar quickly addressed the rumours by adding a clarification to the post. The Stree 2 actor later updated the caption of the post. Despite the clarification, some fans still held onto the pregnancy theory, flooding the comments with messages like, "They must be having a baby!" Rajkummar's caption now reads:

"P.S.: We are not becoming parents yet."

Rajkummar and Patralekha were seen sharing the screen back in 2014 when they worked in the film, CityLights. Now, with the air cleared about their pregnancy rumours, fans are speculating about an upcoming collaboration on the screen.

While Rajkummar and Patralekhaa have yet to reveal details about their impending collaboration, reports suggest that the couple is gearing up to announce a Netflix project. According to Filmfare, they are turning producers, and their maiden production is a film directed by a newcomer named Vivek Daschaudhary. Additionally, reports claim that Farah Khan is set to make a cameo appearance in the same project.

On the professional front, Rajkummar Rao is currently basking in the success of Stree 2. He is set to play a gangster in Maalik, an action thriller directed by Pulkit. Meanwhile, reports suggest that he is also in the middle of working on Toaster, a crime comedy starring Sonakshi Sinha.
