This new film by Rajkummar Rao has sparked a wave of discussion on social media platforms. The film is receiving mixed responses by viewers, while some appreciate Rajkummar's performance, others criticised the storyline and direction.

Rajkummar Rao's film, Maalik received a lot of appreciation and criticism by users online on X (formerly Twitter). A lot of users said that the film is worth watching only because of Rajkummar's powerful acting. Users called him 'electrifying'. One fan commented, "#RajkummarRao shines in and as #Maalik in the film, his performance is really electrifying." A second user said, "Only watchable for #RajKummarRao’s solid performance." Fans who were used to seeing him in a fun role are loving him in this raw and powerful role.

Users online criticism the storyline of Maalik

Despite the audience giving a lot of love to the cast and their performance, the audience even criticised the screenplay and direction of the film. Some users were left disappointed because of the dull story, weak direction and no grip. Users also felt that the second half was not up to the mark. One user said, "First half is BOMBARDING but the second half lacks a bit in the screenplay and is okayish." Another user said, "Completely opposite of expectations... Maybe the second half will be better."
