Actor-comedian, Raju Srivastava rose to fame after his stint on the stand-up comedy show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge season 1, in 2005. Well-known for his comic timings, Raju had also featured in films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon and many others. Raju's contribution to comedy was commendable, and he was also appointed as the chairperson of the Film Development Council, Uttar Pradesh.
However, Raju Srivastava passed away due to a cardiac arrest, and left for his heavenly abode on September 21, 2022. He was admitted to AIIMS Delhi after he had got his first cardiac arrest in August 2022, and since then he had been battling for his life. The actor underwent an angioplasty and was kept on a ventilator. His demise has sent shock waves across the country, and his well-wishers are mourning his death.

In an interview with ETimes, Raju Srivastava's wife, Shikha Srivastava, broke her silence on her husband's demise. The actor-comedian wife, who has been inconsolable after her loss, mustered up the little courage that she had and shared that Raju fought very hard. Revealing that she was hoping to see him alive, the doting wife said:
"I am not able to talk right now. What can I share or say now? He fought very hard, I was really hoping and praying to see him come out of this. But, that has not happened. All I can say is that he was a true fighter."
On the other hand, Raju Srivastava's nephew, Kushal Srivastava revealed that he had been visiting the comedian at AIIMS every day for the past two months. Talking about his uncle's demise, Kushal said that Raju passed away after suffering from a second cardiac arrest. In his words:
"He passed away due to a second cardiac arrest. We were confident till yesterday that all will be well because he he had battling it for two months."

Meanwhile, Dr Aneel Morarka, who was Raju Srivastava's family friend, revealed that he had been with the late comedian throughout his illness at the hospital in Delhi. He shared that he and Raju have known each other for more than 37 years and they have been together in their struggling years. Mentioning that he is proud of the life Raju lived, he added:
"Raju bhai and I were friends since college days and more than 37 years I have known him. Both of us struggled and we never knew that we would reach till here. Raju bhai lived a life we are proud of and I pray that he will find peace and comfort where he is."
