Veteran filmmaker, Rakesh Roshan is 75. He is a proud father to Hrithik Roshan and never leaves a stone unturned when appreciating the actor. Hrithik made his Bollywood debut with Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai opposite Ameesha Patel. He received overnight fame with the film directed by his dad, Rakesh. Hrithik has come a long way in his road to success. However, did you know that the actor had an opportunity to go abroad for further education, but he did not chase that dream?
During an interview with Indian Express, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan revealed that Hrithik could pursue his studies abroad, but the actor did not chase his educational dreams. The reason was that Hrithik wanted to be there with his father, learn his work, and step into his shoes. In the words of Rakesh:
"When I asked him what he wanted to do, he said he wanted to be an actor. Then I told him to join someone as an assistant, and he said he wanted to join me only."
Hrithik attended Bombay Scottish School and then studied commerce at Mumbai's Sydenham College. After completing his education, Hrithik knew his dream was to become an actor, and he assisted his dad, Rakesh, in one of his hit films, Karan Arjun. During an earlier interview with News18 Showsha, Rakesh revealed that the filmmaker had not treated him special despite Hrithik being a star kid. Whenever outdoor shooting happened, Hrithik had to stay with the crew and also fell sick. Rakesh used to travel to the movie set in his car, while he ensured that Hrithik travelled by bus. In the words of Rakesh:
"I didn’t take him with me. I wanted him to see that life. When we used to go for outdoor shooting as well, he used to stay with the unit people, not in the hotel that the actors were placed in."
Rakesh also revealed that when he used to take Hrithik for the shoots, he ensured that he would stay with the crew. If four crew team members were in the room, Hrithik had to be with them, too. He used to eat whatever the crew used to eat. The actor also had developed stomach issues because of the same. Rakesh was a strict father, and going further in the interview, he revealed that Hrithik had to obey his father's rules for 4-5 years. Rakesh wanted his son to know the life behind filmmaking. He also taught discipline to his son, which is why, to date, Hrithik is always on time on the sets, as mentioned by his father.
