Ram Kapoor is one of the most popular actors on Indian television, with a strong screen presence and a major credit for the same goes for Ektaa Kapoor. The actor-producer duo have collaborated for some of the most successful TV shows like Kasamh Se, Kavita and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. However, in the last few months, they have had a public fallout, following which Ektaa took a couple of digs at Ram through her social media channel. In a recent interview, Ram broke his silence on the matter and the role of social media in aggravating the situation among them.
Ram Kapoor recently sat down for an interview with Money Control and addressed his remarks on Bade Aache Lagte Hai, which began his rift with Ekta. For those unaware, it all started when Ram claimed that Ektaa Kapoor had planned an on-screen kiss and intimate scenes between him and Sakshi Tanwar on the show. He also added that she received immense backlash for the same, and later, in a post, Ektaa called him 'unprofessional' and asked him to 'shut up' for his remarks about their show. Talking about the same, he said,
"I presumed that the whole kiss thing was her idea. She's the one who informed us. Maybe it was the writers, maybe not. Since she got upset, maybe it wasn't hers."
Ram Kapoor recently sat down for an interview with Zoom and addressed his conflict with Ektaa Kapoor, which recently made headlines. He earlier claimed that Ektaa had the right to say anything to him as she was the one who trusted him and gave him an opportunity on TV which changed his life. Now, he called out the role of social media in intensifying the issue and said:
"You guys have to realise that for people on social media or some media people who write for them, it's probably a much bigger deal than it is for us. Because honestly, for me, social media is a joke. It's not something to be taken seriously, not even for a day."
Ram explained that when someone says something about the other person on social media, it unnecessarily becomes a big issue, and the media writes about it. Consequently, even the public considers it a major issue. However, Ram doesn't care about what the media says or writes. Despite the differences, the actor made it clear that he doesn't hold any grudges against anyone.
In the same conversation, Ram Kapoor shared his views on the recent trend of reboots on Indian television, especially the highly-awaited Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Ram shared that even his show, Bade Ache Lagte Hai, had already gone through two seasons after his one. In addition, one more is currently airing, but he doesn't think about it at all. Instead, he looks at it from the perspective of survival because even Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 would give work to many more people. Sharing how he isn't against remarks or reboots, Ram said:

"A lot of times, people complain that totally remakes get made, no original content. I don't think anything is wrong because I know how difficult the industry is. As long as people are getting work, let them work."
