Dipika Chikhlia, during an interview with News24Hindi, revealed why the entire team was unable to celebrate Diwali for four consecutive years. She revealed that the shoot for Ramayan was scheduled at a location near the border of Maharashtra. For the uninitiated, the serial was filmed in Umargaon, a small village in Nadurbar Taluka, Nandurbar District, on the border of Maharashtra. She added that, since it was a long shoot, accommodations were made available near the shooting locations for all the actors. As the location was extremely far from their homes, travelling back was not an easy task.

In the same conversation, Dipika revealed that it was due to the distance that the cast and crew members could not travel back home often, which included being away from home on festivals as well. She explained that the shoot for the show, including Ramayan and Luv Kush, lasted for a period of four years. Hence, they could not be home to celebrate Diwali for the entirety of the filming. However, the show was well worth it for Dipika and the entire crew and is still regarded as one of the most loved shows in Indian television's history.
