On April 30, 2020, the veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor had left for the heavenly abode after giving a tough fight against cancer. The actor had to leave the shooting of his film, Sharmaji Namkeen, in between for his treatment. But before completing the film, Rishi Kapoor had bid adieu to the world. And eventually, actor, Paresh Rawal had to step in his shoes to complete the film.
Over the past few days, we have seen the late Rishi Kapoor's son, Ranbir Kapoor was, busy promoting his father's film, Sharmaji Namkeen. From recalling the dilemma, the family faced completing the film after Rishi Kapoor's death to calling it his papa's best performance, Ranbir bared his heart out. As the film is released today, i.e., on March 31, 2022, some of the biggest names of Bollywood, including Ranbir and his girlfriend, Alia Bhatt, gave a special tribute to the veteran actor.

A few moments back, Rishi Kapoor's wife and actress, Neetu Kapoor took to her IG handle and posted a video starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aamir Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Aadar Jain and Tara Sutaria paying tribute to the late actor. In the video, the actors were seen dancing to Rishi Kapoor's iconic song, Om Shanti Om, from the film, Karz. Along with the video, Neetu wrote:
"Lovely tribute to Kapoor Saab #sharmajinamkeen."
In an interview with NDTV, Ranbir Kapoor had talked about his father's first reaction when he got to know about his cancer diagnosis during the filming of Sharmaji Namkeen. Ranbir had said that Rishi Kapoor's instant reaction was 'I cannot leave this film'. Ranbir had further added that the film defines the most challenging period of his father's life and how he was rushed to the United States for treatment. Talking about the same, Ranbir had said:
"Sharmaji Namkeen defines the tough period of my father's life. He started a film, he did a blood report and we got to know that he could have Leukemia and we had to rush him to America. A family friend and I went to Delhi to break this news to my father and take him to America to start his treatment."

Ranbir had further revealed that Rishi Kapoor was against leaving the film. However, the family had convinced the producers, and they had soon left for Rishi's treatment in America. Ranbir had also stated that in the one year of his treatment in the USA, he had only talked about his film.
It was on Rishi Kapoor's 69th birth anniversary, when his daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni had unveiled the poster of Sharmaji Namkeen. Sharing the first look of the poster, Riddhima had written:
"We are proud to present, the poster of a very special film- Sharmaji Namkeen, starring one of the most celebrated actors in the Hindi film industry whose inimitable work and sparkling career we will cherish forever, Mr. Rishi Kapoor. As a mark of love, respect and remembrance of him and as a gift to his millions of fans, here is the first look of his final film."
Well, Rishi Kapoor truly believed in the phrase, 'the show must go on'.
