The second week of April 2022 is finally here and Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's fans can't keep calm. For the past few days, there have been rumours surrounding Ranbir and Alia's wedding, but nothing is confirmed by the couple yet. Amid the anticipation of Ranbir and Alia's much-awaited wedding on April 14, the latest reports suggest that the couple has decided to postpone the same.
Earlier, Alia Bhatt's uncle, Robin Bhatt, who is her father, Mahesh Bhatt's half-brother had confirmed the news of their wedding to ETimes. Sharing details about the same, he had shared that Ranbir and Alia will tie the knot on April 14, 2022, and the ceremony would take place at Ranbir's Bandra home, 'Vastu'.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, Alia Bhatt's half-brother, Rahul Bhatt revealed that the couple will not be tying the knot on April 13 or 14. According to him, since the wedding date and other information were leaked in the media, Ranbir and Alia have decided to postpone the same citing security reasons. In his words:
"The dates earlier were the same, but after the information was leaked to the media, the dates were changed. Security concerns were also one of the reasons."
Going further in the interview, Rahul hinted that the wedding might take place in the third week of April, around April 20. He also said that there will be an official announcement regarding the wedding in the coming days. Talking about the same, he stated:
"As far as I know, there will be an announcement regarding the date soon."

On April 10, 2022, Ranbir and Alia's fans were delighted to see glimpses of the wedding preparations. A paparazzi page on Instagram had posted a video of the Kapoor family home, Krishna Raj Bungalow in Chembur, decorated with lights.
In an interview with India Today, Ranbir Kapoor's mother, Neetu Kapoor was asked about her son's wedding with Alia, the doting mother had reacted and had said that even she is confused as the reports of their wedding have been speculated for a very long time. Revealing that people will get to know about the wedding, Neetu had retorted:
“Main to do saal se shaadi ki khabar sun rahi hoon..kya pata main yahan show host kar rahi hoon aur wo peeche shaadi kar lein...waise itni saari dates aa gaye hain hai k Main bhi confused hoon...media se roz naye dates pata chal rahe hain.. agar shaadi hogi pata chal jaayegi.”
