Bollywood stars, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's wedding rumours have been doing rounds in the headlines for quite some months now. They have been dating for quite some time now and are often spotted together. Recently, the couple had finally wrapped up the shooting of their film, Brahmastra, which had played the role of a Cupid between them, bringing them closer. While Ranbir and Alia's fans are waiting for a long time for the couple to finally announce their wedding date, the actor and his would-be-father-in-law, Mahesh Bhatt addressed the couple's wedding speculations.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's wedding rumours were fumed more-so-ever, when on March 27, 2022, the famous bridal designer, Beena Kannan had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a picture with the couple. In the photo, Alia had worn a cream-coloured ensemble while Ranbir had donned a blue-hued shirt. The couple were seen posing with the designer. However, the post was filled with netizens' comments as they had asked whether they are getting married. While one user had written, "Is it Wedding bells", another had commented, "It look likes wedding bells."

In an interview with NDTV, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the speculations regarding his wedding rumours with Bollywood actress, Alia Bhatt. He admitted that soon the much-in-love duo will tie the knot. However, he didn't mention the date and when he was asked about this, he gave a hilariously reply. In Ranbir's words:
"Mujhe paagal kutte ne nahi kaata hai ki main media ko announce kardu date. But Alia and I have all the intentions of getting married soon, so yes, hopefully soon."
In a candid chat with Pinkvilla, Alia Bhatt's father, Mahesh Bhatt spilled the beans about his daughter's wedding rumours with Ranbir Kapoor. Keeping it short, the film director denied it and said:

Ranbir Kapoor's aunt, Rima Jain had also reacted to his April wedding and had clarified the same. While talking to Pinkvilla, Rima had denied the news and had stated that it would be a shock for her if the news is true as they have not prepared anything. Talking about the same, she had said:
"Nothing that I know of as yet. They will get married but I don’t know when. They will decide and then suddenly you'll will all get to know. Nothing like this. Hum log ne kuch prepare hi nahin kiya toh shaadi kaise itni jaldi hogi. It will be shocking for me also if it’s true. Wedding will definitely happen, but I don’t know when."
In an interview with the Film Companion, Alia Bhatt was questioned about her wedding rumours circulating in the media for quite some time now. The actress had wittily dragged a comparison with the fable, 'Boy Who Cried Wolf' and had mentioned that when she would marry Ranbir Kapoor in reality, people would take it as a rumour, which would be great for her. Alia had said:
"Whoever is spreading these rumours, it has become like the boy who cried wolf. They are crying wolf so often that actually when I am supposedly getting married, people will think it's a rumour and it will be great for me because no one will know."
Alia Bhatt is a proud girlfriend and never misses a chance to shower love on her beau, Ranbir Kapoor. On February 5, 2022, Alia had taken to her Instagram stories and had shared a post uploaded by her fan page. A collage of Alia's 'Gangubai' pose from her last released movie, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Ranbir perfectly acing his girlfriend's signature pose in the film was seen in the post. Reposting the collage, Alia had written:
"Best boyfriend ever!!"
