Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most loved celebrities in Bollywood. The actor is well-known for his roles in films such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Barfi!, Animal, Sanju, and Wake Up Sid. However, recently the actor has been hogging headlines for his upcoming role in Ramayana. For the unversed, the actor will be portraying the revered Hindu lord, 'Ram'.
Ranbir Kapoor has once again landed himself in a controversy after a recent video contradicted earlier reports that he had quit non-vegetarian food and alcohol to prepare for his role as Lord Ram. For the unversed, Ranbir will be playing the revered king in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic, Ramayana. According to earlier reports, Ranbir had embraced a sattvic lifestyle as a personal commitment.

Reports claimed that Ranbir had also given up smoking and adopted a more disciplined routine that included meditation and early-morning workouts. According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor adopted these lifestyle changes to embody the spiritual essence and physical poise associated with Lord Ram. However, a newly surfaced video has cast a doubt on these claims. A video that has been surfacing online is allegedly from the recently released content titled Dining With The Kapoors.

As per the reports, the series celebrates the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary Raj Kapoor. In the video, Armaan Jain is seen serving Fish Curry Rice and Junglee Mutton to the entire Kapoor family gathered at the table. Ranbir is seen seated alongside Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rima Jain, Saif Ali Khan, and other members of the Kapoor clan.

Soon enough, the clip went viral on social media platforms, with netizens calling out Ranbir Kapoor's PR team for spreading such false rumours. A user took to Reddit and shared, "I think PR teams of Bollywood actors should be fired, especially that of RK and Alia Bhatt. They don't do an ounce of research into their clients' past videos before posting such stupidity. On top of that, there are such exaggerated claims and all. What was the need to make claims of leaving non-veg and drinks for the role? Who asked? If they had kept their mouth shut at that time, they wouldn't be facing this unnecessary heat at present."

Another user penned, "Kal article ayega about how Ranbir was served a separate food menu because of his pledge for the movie." A user responded to the comment, stating, "And how it was cooked in a separate kitchen." A comment read, "Ranbir to PR: Tu jhooti main makkaar." A user in a long comment added:
"We don’t personally judge a man from his eating habits. He should do good acting and prove in the film and story that he is the one for it. That's all we want. But when your own PR tried to glory yourself of leaving non veg for the film just to get it hyped and promoted but you are caught lieing. Then, bro, that is wrong on so many levels. This has created mistrust in the film now."

Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Animal alongside Rashmika Mandana, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor. The actor will soon be seen in Ramayana and Love and War. Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan will be released in two parts: the first on Diwali 2026, and the second the following year, on Diwali 2027.
