Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor is busy promoting his late father, Rishi Kapoor's upcoming movie, Sharmaji Namkeen. The doting son has been busy giving interviews and sharing some anecdotes about his late father and his way of living life. In one such media interaction, Ranbir revealed his father, Rishi's first reaction to knowing about his cancer diagnosis.
On April 30, 2020, legendary actor, Rishi Kapoor had left for the heavenly abode without any final goodbyes. He had given a tough fight to cancer for two years. However, his kids, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni became a pillar of strength for their mother, Neetu Kapoor. Now, we often see Ranbir re-creating his father's iconic dialogue to his famous songs as a tribute.

Recently, in an interview with NDTV, Ranbir Kapoor talked about his father's first reaction on getting to know about his cancer diagnosis. Ranbir said his instant reaction was 'I cannot leave this film'. Ranbir further added that the film defines the toughest period of his father's life and how he was rushed to the United States for treatment. And despite all the hardship, Rishi Kapoor had completed the film. Ranbir said:
"Sharmaji Namkeen defines the tough period of my father's life. He started a film, he did a blood report and we got to know that he could have Leukemia and we had to rush him to America. A family friend and I went to Delhi to break this news to my father and take him to America to start his treatment."

Ranbir further revealed that his father, Rishi Kapoor was against leaving the film. However, the family had convinced the producers and they had soon left for Rishi's treatment in America. Ranbir also shared that in the one year of his treatment in the USA, he had only talked about his film.

On December 15, 2021, we had stumbled upon a video from the promotional event for Ranbir's upcoming movie. In the video, Ranbir had revealed that Rishi Kapoor had thought in India his movie won't work as no one watches VFX films. After which, Ranbir had recreated his father, Rishi Kapoor's popular dialogue, 'Kya tumne kisi se pyaar kiya' from the film, Karz.
We cannot wait for Rishi Kapoor's last film of his career to release!
