Ranbir Kapoor is working hard to leave a strong mark with his upcoming film, Ramayana, in which he plays the role of 'Lord Ram'. The film is being made on a super expensive budget of Rs. 1600 crore, and it will have two parts. The first one will be released on Diwali 2026. However, it is Ranbir who is charging the biggest pay cheque of his career.
According to a report by Filmfare, Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly the highest-paid actor in the film. He is taking home Rs. 75 crore each for two instalments of the film. In total, he would be getting Rs. 150 crore, which is the highest salary from all his films. On the other hand, Sai Pallavi, who portrays the role of Goddess Sita, will also earn a substantial amount, approximately Rs. 6 crore per part. She will be getting a total of Rs. 12 crore.
It is worth mentioning that Yash is one of the co-producers of the film, alongside Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios. For the uninitiated, Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is said to be the most expensive film made in Indian cinema. It was reported that Rs. 11 crores were spent.
It is worth mentioning that to mark the release of the teaser, screenings were held across nine Indian cities and at New York's Times Square, which added the project's international worth. The narrative explores the conflict between Lord Ram and Ravana. The film aims to engage a global audience with jaw-dropping VFX and storytelling.
For those who don't know, the ensemble cast includes Sunny Deol as 'Lord Hanuman', a television actor, and Ravie Dubey, who is also making a huge mark with his role as 'Lakshman', the younger brother of 'Lord Ram', in the film. The project promises a big blend of top-tier talents. Composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman have joined hands for the film's music. Stunt coordinators Terry Notary and Guy Norris are also choreographing the action sequences. Talking about film's grand budget, a source close to the producer revealed the film's cost, which is around Rs. 1600 crores. The source said:

"While Ramayana 1 is being made on a budget of Rs 900 crore, the second part of Ramayana has a cost of Rs 700 crore. The reason for the reduction in budget for part two is a result of a large investment in asset and world creation for part one, leaving just the action sequences for the second instalment. The characters built and designed alongside the set pieces will continue to be a part of the second instalment."
The source further mentioned that the entire team is confident in their ability to recover the investment and generate high profits, driven by their single goal of reaching a global audience. It is the reason they have worked hard on every detail to turn it into a global project with stunning visuals.
