Randhir Kapoor Accused Sunjay Kapur Of Living With Another Woman Without Divorcing Karisma Kapoor

Billionaire businessman and Bollywood actress, Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur’s untimely demise on June 12, 2025, shocked the business and entertainment world. While initial findings confirmed a cardiac arrest to be the cause of his death, reports now suggest that the 53-year-old businessman may have died due to an unexpected bee sting incident, and not just a heart attack.

The billionaire businessman was playing a game of polo when he collapsed. It was also reported that during the middle of the game, he inhaled a bee, which stung him. The sting is said to have triggered a severe allergic reaction, which ultimately led to a fatal cardiac arrest. The 53-year-old businessman felt a sudden discomfort in the middle of his game and left the field, but shortly after, he collapsed.

Sunjay Kapur’s personal life was marred by controversies, and the business tycoon has hit the headlines for the same. His first marriage was to fashion designer, Nandita Mahtani, which ended in divorce. He then went on to marry Bollywood starlet, Karisma Kapoor. They welcomed two kids, Samaira and Kiaan, however, the couple got divorced in 2016. Soon after his divorce from Karisma, Sunjay married former model and actress, Priya Sachdev and became the father of a son, Azarius, in 2018.

When Sunjay and Karisma parted ways, it was one of the most talked-about topics in the media, which led to an ugly battle. The couple left no stone unturned in mudslinging each other. In fact, Karisma’s father also accused Sunjay of living with another woman before divorcing Karisma.

Karisma tied the knot with a Delhi-based businessman, Sunjay Kapur, in 2003. The alliance was set up by Karisma’s mother, Babita Shivdasani. The wedding gained huge limelight as it was one of the lavish events of the year and took place at Karisma’s ancestral home, Krishna Raj bungalow in Mumbai. While it looked like a happy marriage, Karisma and Sunjay shocked everyone when they filed for a divorce in 2014 with mutual consent.

Sunjay Kapur accused Karisma Kapoor of marrying him for his wealth

Karisma and Sunjay’s divorce case turned ugly when she accused the businessman of domestic violence. Reacting to Karisma’s claims, the business tycoon alleged that the actress married him for money and property. As per Mumbai Mirror, the businessman mentioned that she married him for financial gains in a 'calculated and clinical' manner. From that moment, Sunjay and Karisma began mudslinging each other and washing their dirty linens in public.

Karisma Kapoor’s father, Randhir Kapoor, accused Sunjay Kapur of living with another woman

When Karisma Kapoor’s mother, Babita, arranged her alliance with Sunjay, the actress’ father, Randhir Kapoor was against it. When Karisma and Sunjay’s court proceedings turned ugly, Randhir reacted to Sunjay’s allegations and said:

“Everyone knows our ­credentials. We are Kapoors. We don't need to run after anyone's money. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives. Sunjay is a third-class man. I never wanted Karisma to marry him. He has debauchery in his ­system and never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull*** to her, and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is. I would not like to say anything more than this."

Karisma Kapoor received a hefty alimony after her divorce from Sunjay Kapur

After a lot of drama, Karisma and Sunjay decided to resolve the matter amicably, and the couple was granted a divorce in 2016. After the divorce, Karisma received a hefty amount as alimony. As per a report in Mid-Day:

“Karisma will get Sunjay's father's house (in Khar) transferred in her name. Sunjay has to purchase bonds worth Rs. 14 crore for the children, which will attract a monthly interest of around Rs. 10 lakh."

After Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur’s divorce, the duo burned their hatchet and continued to co-parent their kids by celebrating their birthdays and other occasions together.
