When Randhir Kapoor Shared Why He And Rishi Kapoor Stopped Attending 'Holi' Parties, 'Ladkiyo Ne..'

The Kapoors have been one of the first families of the Hindi film fraternity. From Prithviraj Kapoor to the current handsome man of the Kapoor family, Ranbir, many iconic stars from their family have captured the hearts of many. Amid all this, there was Randhir Kapoor, who was known to be one of the most influential people in Bollywood. However, do you know the veteran star once confessed why he and Rishi Kapoor stopped attending Holi parties?

Randhir Kapoor once revealed the real reason behind why he and Rishi Kapoor didn't attend Holi parties

Kareena and Karisma Kapoor's dad, Randhir Kapoor, married Babita Kapoor. The actor used to enjoy the female crowd that used to be present at the Holi parties when he was young. During The Kapil Sharma Show season 2, Randhir was seen on the couch with Karisma Kapil, the host, who asked the actor about the good old times when veteran stars used to attend Holi parties. Kapil asked which star would be keen on playing songs and dancing during Holi parties. Randhir replied by saying:

"Raj Kapoor saab, Shami uncle, Shashi uncle, Sitara devi ji aati thi. Thoda traditional kisam ka atmosphere rehta tha. Fir jab se ye rang aa gaya, zamaane badal gaye, shakle badal gayi logo ki… koi pehchaane nahi jaate the. Nayi pidi ki jitni ladkiya thi, sabne aana band kar dia. Toh jab ye ladkio ne aana band kar diya, mujhe aur Rishi ko bhi pasand nahi ata tha. Maza nahi aata tha."

Randhir also shared that there was a time when people used to tease one another and also then used to not recognise anyone. Girls then stopped coming to the parties as their nails and hair used to be spoilt. This was the reason why Rishi and Randhir stopped going to the Holi parties as the women stopped coming.

Randhir, like his younger brother, Rishi, could not be successful in the film industry. He could not gain stardom but did do an array of hit movies like, Haath Ki Safai (1974), Chacha Bhatija (1977), Rampur Ka Lakshman(1972), Jawani Diwani (1972), Kal Aaj Aur, Hamrahi (1974), Ram Bharose (1977), Mama Bhanja (1977), Biwi-o-Biwi (1981) and the list does not stop. Some of his movies did well at the box office, and he was loved for doing romantic movies. However, there also came a time in his life when Randhir stopped experimenting with his roles and focused on doing similar ones.

Randhir Kapoor shared of being a terrible man after drinking

It is said that Randhir's drinking habits made him a downfall in his career. He had taken his stardom for granted, and instead of focusing on his career, he resorted to drinking. During an earlier interview with the Hindustan Times, Randhir said that he was a man who came home very late after drinking. His wife, Babita could not accept it even though they had a love marriage. Randhir's drinking habits had doomed his life in the film world.
