Kareena Kapor Khan and Karisma Kapoor's father, Randhir Kapoor is hospitalised at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Ambani Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. As per the reports, his condition is stable so far. Five of Randhir Kapoor's staff members have also contracted Coronavirus and are now admitted to the same hospital as him.

In an interview with the ETimes, Randhir Kapoor revealed that his daughters, Kareena and Karisma, and his wife, Babita have also taken COVID tests, and their results are negative. During the conversation, Randhir Kapoor also revealed that he has decided to sell his ancestral home, the RK residence in Chembur. The actor talked in detail about the same. Talking about why did he feel the need to sell the house, Randhir Kapoor said, “Rajiv (his youngest brother) largely stayed with me, he had a house in Pune but he was mostly in Mumbai.” For the uninitiated, Rajiv Kapoor had passed away on February 9, 2021. Randhir Kapoor has a house in Bandra, which is currently being renovated for the actor to shift there permanently. Randhir Kapoor said that after Rajiv’s death, he felt lonely in the ancestral bungalow therefore, he made up his mind to shift closer to his family. The actor said, “My parents had told me that I can stay in this (Chembur) home for as long as I want, but the day I decide to sell it, I will have to share the sale proceeds with my siblings Rishi, Rajiv, Ritu, and Rima.”

Randhir Kapoor was very close to his brothers, Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor and often talks about how he is left all alone after his brothers' demise. On March 22, 2021, Randhir Kapoor had taken to his IG handle and had posted an unseen picture of his late brothers, Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor from their younger days. Alongside the picture, Randhir Kapoor had penned his feelings as he had missed his brothers. His note could be read as "Will always miss my darling brothers. Hope you both are happy wherever you are."

Once, on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, the host, Karan had invited ‘The Kapoors’, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor. Discussing their school life on the show, Rajiv Kapoor had mentioned that while everyone was elder to him and had passed out, it was Rishi Kapoor, with whom he was left. To this, Rishi Kapoor had remarked, “I didn’t pass out, but I failed out.” Continuing to this, Randhir Kapoor had said, “We all failed. All of us failed.” Rishi Kapoor had added, “Hum sab 11 fail hain.” When Karan Johar had asked if nobody went to the college, Randhir Kapoor had said, “Only girls went to the college, Ritu and Rima.” To this, Rishi Kapoor had added, “And Ranbir, yeah, Ranbir has gone to the college.”

During the conversation, the Kapoor brothers had recalled some of their childhood memories. Rajiv Kapoor had shared that his elder brothers, Randhir and Rishi used to bully him. He had said, “Being the youngest, 15 years to Randhir Kapoor and 10 years to Rishi Kapoor, so whatever you do or whatever you say is always looked down and never taken seriously until and unless you make a serious bond, then a second thought is given to it.” When asked about their feelings on having a little brother after so long with the birth of Rajiv Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor had said, “He is my son. I treat him like my son.” Continuing to this, Rishi Kapoor had said, “Its like my father and my youngest chacha, Shashi Kapoor. The age difference was such, Dabbu’s and Chimpu’s age difference is such.” Randhir Kapoor had then continued, “I have three children, Chimpu is my son, and Lolo and Bebo.”
