Randhir Kapoor Shifts Into His New Bandra House, Talks About The Memories Of His Old Chembur Mansion

Earlier this year, veteran actor, Randhir Kapoor had tested negative for COVID-19, and was admitted to Mumbai's famous Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. In his recent interview, Randhir talked about the emotions he went through after shifting from his old Chembur house to a new beautiful mansion in Bandra.

For the unversed, on November 6, 1971, Randhir Kapoor and Babita had gotten married in a Punjabi wedding at the Kapoor residence. It was in 1974 when the madly-in-love couple had welcomed their first child, Karisma Kapoor. After which, in 1981, when their second child, Kareena Kapoor, was born, the financial woes had started affecting their marital life according to multiple reports. And finally, in 1987, Babita had decided to separate from Randhir.

In an interview with ETimes, Randhir Kapoor opened up about his decision of moving into his new Bandra house from his old house in Chembur. Talking about the same, the veteran actor stated that his Chembur house was way too big, and he had started feeling lonely in that house. He said, "I am feeling better here (the new house). I had started feeling more lonely, of late. Here, my family can drop in frequently like they did a few hours back; there was a puja today. They will continue to do so in the future. Even my friends are close by in Khar and Bandra."

Going further in his interview, the actor was asked if he had sold his Chembur home or not. AnsweringAnswering the question, Randhir Kapoor jokingly stated that they aren't in such a bad financial situation at the moment. The actor said, “No, hamari haalat itni bhi buri nahi hain. It stays as it was. It was just that it was a very big house and I was all alone."

When Randhir Kapoor was asked about his health, the actor stated that he's doing absolutely fine and revealed that a griha pravesh puja had taken place on July 2, 2021. The actor revealed that his daughters, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor, niece, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, and nephew, Aadar Jain were also present in the housewarming ceremony.

At the end of his interview, Randhir Kapoor stated that he had spent 50 years of his life in the Chembur house. Thus it was an incredibly emotional situation for him. Emphasising the same, he said, "Well, some memories made there are unforgettable. I spent 50 years of my life there."

A few months ago, in an interview with a leading daily, Randhir Kapoor had revealed what his parents had told him regarding the sale proceedings of their Chembur house. He had said, "My parents had told me that I can stay in this (Chembur) home for as long as I want, but the day I decide to sell it, I will have to share the sale proceeds with my siblings Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Ritu, and Rima."
