On the auspicious occasion of Kali Puja, on 31st October 2024, Rani Mukerji was seen seeking the blessings of Maa Kali at the puja pandal. Like each year, the actress added a dash of glamour to her traditional outfit. She did not wear a Bengali saree for the celebrations but opted for a gorgeous purple-hued salwar kameez. However, what caught our attention was the dainty mangalsutra she was wearing.

For those who do not know, Kali Puja is a festival dedicated to Goddess Kali. The Bengalis offer different rituals and prayers to the Goddess. The puja takes place at night. Rani Mukerji was papped, leaving the pandal in traditional Indian wear. Her unique mangalsutra was made of tiny black beads and had no uncut diamond piece. She flaunted her Shakha Pola and draped the dupatta in Punjabi style. She completed her look with a neatly done bun, a white gajra and long earrings that added a magical colour to her festive fashion.

On 13th October 2024, Rani Mukerji celebrated Bijoya Dashami, Dussehra, with her friends and family. For the uninitiated, after five days of Durga puja celebrations, Maa Durga is bid goodbye with a ritual called Sindoor Khela. Hindu mythology celebrates her victory in slaying demon king, Mahishasura enthusiastically on Bijoya. Rani looked like a Bengali goddess in a golden saree draped in a Bengali style. She accentuated her look with a big red bindi, golden earrings and necklace. However, she had donned a different gold-crusted mangalsutra. Her makeup was light; she tied her hair in a neat bun and applied a bit of sindoor.

Rani Mukerji will be next seen in the third part of Mardaani. Yash Raj Films announced this when they celebrated the 10th anniversary of this movie. The thriller movie is about a fearless police lady named, 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' (played by Rani). The fans loved the earlier two instalments. Rani's portrayal of a cop named Shivani Shivaji Roy defined women's portrayal in male-centric movies. She was shown to be an officer who questioned gender norms and had courage, which showed her strength and dignity.

Rani Mukerji confirmed returning to the big screen with Mardaani 3

Mardaani, was released in 2014. The sequel was released in 2019, and both movies had a lot of success. It was in 2023 when the actress confirmed that she was returning to the sets with Mardaani 3. She said:

“I’m thrilled to see how ‘Mardaani 3’ shapes up. I’m keeping my fingers crossed because I would love to step back into the shoes of Shivani Shivaji Roy."
