Bollywood actress, Rani Mukerji tied the marital knot with the filmmaker, Aditya Chopra, in the year 2014. The duo is blessed with one child, a daughter, Adira, who was born in 2015. Rani and her husband, Aditya are extremely private people and prefer to keep their relationship under wraps. Not many know that Aditya Chopra is the head of the production banner, Yash Raj Films, but enjoys a low-key life with zero arrogance and media presence.
In an interview with Film Companion, Rani Mukerji was asked if her late mother-in-law, Pam Chopra's statements about her influence on her husband, Aditya’s life were true. Responding to the same, Rani revealed how she made Aditya a more relaxed and happier person and added that she shocks him every day. She also revealed that she brings a much-needed spark to his life and said:
“I think the best thing about a relationship is that you need to shock your partner every day. And I shock Adi every day. Every day he sees a new me. Bechara (poor guy), he’s simple. It’s boring to be simple. He tells me that for him, it’s like putting on a new channel every day. One day it’s comedy, one day it’s drama, one day it’s violence. One day it’s romance, of course.”

In the same interview, Rani Mukerji shared that her husband, Aditya still likes to watch movies at the Gaiety Galaxy in Mumbai. However, since he has started to get recognised more often after his appearance in Netflix’s documentary series, The Romantics, they prefer not to visit theatres. When Rani was asked if she still goes to public screenings, she said 'No', and added:
“In YRF, in Mumbai. But when we’re outside India, we go everywhere. It’s lovely to hold hands and go, it’s quite nice.”
Not many know that Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra didn't start on the right foot when they met each other for the first time. It so happened that Aditya had seen Rani’s acting talents in the film, Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat and had suggested her name to his friend, Karan Johar, who was then auditioning for the film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. However, when the trio met, Aditya got upset as Rani failed to recognise him back then. In an interview, Rani once opened up on the same and revealed:
“I first met Adi socially when I was doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, through Karan. Though Adi tells me that after my first film Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat, he has a very vivid memory of seeing me in Sampan restaurant, where much as he had expected, I did not walk up to him to say a hi even though DDLJ had already released and he was already Aditya Chopra. Since actresses would usually walk up and introduce themselves to him, he found it strange.”
