Rani Mukerji is married to a well-known film producer and head of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra. Ever since their marriage, they often give pure couples with their public appearances and revelations in their respective interviews about one another. Now, yet again, Rani opened up about her and her husband, Aditya's financial struggles when the films had failed at the box-office.
In her latest appearance at FICCI Frames 2024, Rani Mukerji opened up about her husband, Aditya Chopra's firm decision during the difficult phase of their lives. The diva started explaining by saying that during the lockdown, the majority of the films were stalled, making the filmmaker's condition worse day by day. She mentioned that it was the toughest time, and filmmakers were also under great pressure to release the films on OTT. She said:
"Adi had these big films waiting to be released but pandemic happened and they were stalled. The films had to sustain the cost incurred in their making and filmmakers were under tremendous pressure to release them on OTT. I saw my husband calm and composed. He said, these movies we made for theatres for audiences to enjoy so I will release them in theatres. He was offered huge money on OTT but he took a brave call and decided to wait."

Further, Rani revealed how Aditya remained strong with his decision that he would release those movies only in the theatre as they were made for the same. Then, Rani mentioned that for the same, Aditya also denied great offers from the OTT as hoped for a desired box-office success. But everything went in water and the films were not successful as they predicted. She continued:
"When these films were released, all flopped! The way the audience watched content around the pandemic and and post that changed overnight. All his films failed at the box-office and everyone was in depression as it was a huge commercial setback. The conviction that Adi stood by, we thought some divine intervention will happen and he will be rewarded for his conviction of releasing films theatrically, but that didn’t happen."
Finally, Rani mentioned that after witnessing one after the other failures, it was Shah Rukh Khan starrer film, Pathaan, that made a massive box-office collection. Undoubtedly, Pathaan was not only a massive comeback for Shah Rukh Khan, but Aditya and his YRF also got much help from the same. Rani shared:
"Nothing worked for us until Pathaan happened. That film changed everything for Yash Raj films. Bhagwaan jab deta hai chappad faad ke deta hai. He just tests your courage. Adi had that courage and I salute that."
