Ranveer Singh is currently basking in the success of his recently-released film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, wherein he played the role of 'Rocky Randhawa'. The movie focuses on familial and cultural differences along with the love story of the main leads. However, not many know that Ranveer Singh himself faced something similar in his real life when he was going to tie the knot with actress, Deepika Padukone.
While Ranveer Singh hails from a Sindhi family, his ladylove, Deepika Padukone belongs to a South Indian family. During a press conference promoting his film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Ranveer Singh revealed that when he and Deepika informed their respective parents about their relationship, they initially didn’t understand the bond. Recalling how their families couldn’t understand, especially his mother-in-law, Ranveer said:
“Unke palle nahi pada, khaas kar ke meri mother-in-law ko."

Though initially there was a lot of confusion, things soon fell into place for DeepVeer, and nearly five years after their marriage, Ranveer has become his mother-in-law’s favourite person. In the same video, Ranveer revealed that when Deepika's mother learned more about him and his personality, she started loving him. Ranveer added:
“With time, when we spent time and understood each other, she realized no matter how he (Ranveer Singh) is, his heart is pure and he is a good guy. Now she is one of my favourite people and I am most certainly one of her favourite people."

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone recently purchased a plush home worth Rs. 119 crores in Mumbai, which is the first home that they bought four years after their wedding. In an interview with Esquire, Ranveer opened up about building his first home with his wife, Deepika and revealed that he moved into the latter's house after their wedding. He also shared how Deepika has been decorating their new home, and calling his wife a closeted interior decorator, he shared that he tells her that she is like a little girl with a doll house. He added:
"She loves playing homemaker, and I find that extremely endearing. So, at this moment, I just want to spend quality time with my wife at home."

Earlier, reports about troubles in DeeVeer's married life surfaced online, which created a stir on the internet. Back in 2022, rumours were rife that Deepika and Ranveer would soon get divorced as things were not well between them. Though the couple never publically addressed the reports, Deepika once shut them down in October 2022. During her appearance on Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle's podcast, Deepika talked about her relationship with Ranveer Singh and assured her fans that their marriage was going well. She was heard saying:
"My husband was at a music festival for a week and he’s just come back. So, he’s gonna be happy to see my face."
On the work front, Deepika Padukone was last seen in the film, Pathaan.
