Ranveer Singh tied the knot with the love of his life, Deepika Padukone in 2018, after dating for a few years. Ever since their wedding, the couple faced questions regarding their family planning. Finally, after multiple speculations about the same, it was in February 2024 when they announced their 'good news'. Since then, netizens have been impatiently waiting for the actress to flaunt her baby bump, and the lovebirds are delighting their fans with cute sneak peeks from Deepika's pregnancy phase.
Now, we got hold of an old interview of Ranveer Singh when he opened up about his wish to have a baby girl or a boy with his wife, Deepika Padukone. It was during the trailer launch event of his film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, starring Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah, among others, when Ranveer was asked about his preference. Casting the example of one of his dialogues from the film, Ranveer gave a stunning answer about his choice of the to-be-born-kid's gender in his real life. He revealed whatever God wishes for him will happen, and said:
“Actually it's not my choice. Dialogue hai trailer mein that when we go to mandir, prasad mein ladoo ya peda milega we can't pick. Upar wala jaisa chahega waise hoga meri niji zindagi mein.”

However, in another old candid chat, Ranveer revealed his wish to have a daughter like his wife, Deepika. It was when he graced the show The Big Picture that the actor was asked about the same choice. To which, he praised his wife's beauty and mentioned that he used to see her baby photos every day and tells her to give him a baby like her. In addition, Ranveer also expressed his desire to start a family on many occasions and mentioned that he has started shortlisting names for his would-be-child. He stated:
“Jaisa ki aap log jante hai meri shaadi ho gai hai aur ab 2-3 saal mein bacche bhi honge. Bhaisaab, aapki bhabhi itni cute baby thi na. Main to roz uski baby photos dekhta hoon, kehta hoon ek aisi de de mujhe bus meri life set ho jaye. Main shortlist bana raha hoon names ke."
In yet another interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ranveer explained why he thinks a baby girl is better than a baby boy. Explaining his point, he shared that he would rather have a daughter as they’re so much nicer, kinder, more intelligent, and more involved. The actor also revealed that he prefers feminine energy in his life.

Just like Ranveer, his wife, Deepika is also extremely fond of kids. She has, time and again, opened up about the same. Talking about her wish to start a family in a candid chat at the Loreal event, Deepika said that she know the importance of it. Thus, she talked about her wish to have lots of children in future. Explaining her love for kids, she revealed:
“The one thing I have got to do before I die is definitely have lots of babies. That’s what I want to do. I know the importance of family. I mean it really complete me as a person. I want lots of children. I look at babies picture and I am like…I love kids.”
