Ranvir Shorey dominated the headlines soon after he was declared as a confirmed contestant of the show, Bigg Boss OTT 3. For those who don't know, Ranvir is an eminent actor in the Hindi film industry. The actor was a part of several movies, such as Lootcase, Ek Tha Tiger, Sonchiriya, Aaja Nachle, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, and Khosla Ka Ghosla, among others. However, while being on Bigg Boss, Ranvir left everyone empathising with him, as he shared the reason why he had to be a part of the show.
As per ETimes, in an old interview dated back in 2015, Ranvir Shorey talked about being a part of Bigg Boss. When asked about it, Ranvir, who is known for his bold opinions, stated that he was approached every year by the Bigg Boss makers but he told them to try the next year. He jokingly added that he would join Bigg Boss only when he would feel like giving up on life, but thankfully, he managed to get into some work, and he didn't have to be a part of the controversial show. Ranvir mentioned:
"I'll consider joining Bigg Boss when I feel like giving up on life. They reach out to me every year, and I always tell them to try again the next year. Thankfully, each year I manage to land some work to get me through."

In a promo video of the very first episode of Bigg Boss OTT 3, Ranvir Shorey left everyone to empathise with him as he shared the heartwrenching story of being a part of Anil Kapoor's show. It so happened when his fellow contestant, Shivani Kumari, asked him about his occupation. Answering the same, Ranvir added that he used to be an actor, but he has been out of work for the past few years.
He mentioned that his first film was released back in 1999 and added that if he had some work in his hand, he would not be on Bigg Boss. Ranvir further added that he is from old times and isn't well acquainted with the social media culture. Talking about social media, Ranvir shared how, nowadays, people only depend on themselves, especially influencers. As soon as the promo video surfaced online, netizens rushed to the comment section and penned down their opinions. While some users heaped praises on Ranvir and shared how he had been a wonderful actor, others slammed Shivani for not even knowing the actor.

Ranvir Shorey got married to the actress and his longtime girlfriend, Konkona Sen Sharma, on September 3, 2010. The duo tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. It was only after one year of their marital bliss that Ranvir and Konkona became parents to their son, Haroon. However, after five years of their marital bliss, Ranvir and Konkona parted ways for reason best known to them.
