'Bigg Boss OTT 3': Ranvir Shorey Calls Breakup With Pooja Bhatt: 'Biggest Scandal Of His Life'

Ranvir Shorey, considered one of the most amazing actors in the film industry, is making headlines with his stint on the reality show, Bigg Boss OTT 3. During the show's grand premiere, Ranvir revealed that he was not getting any work, and hence, he had said 'yes' to the reality show. Recently, Ranvir opened up about his ugly breakup with Pooja Bhatt, and called it the biggest scandal of his life.

In the latest episode of Bigg Boss OTT 3, Ranvir talked about his breakup in the early 2000s and revealed how tough it was for him to handle it. He didn't name the person, but it is presumed that he was hinting at his breakup with fellow actress, Pooja Bhatt. While having a deep conversation with his housemate, Deepak Chaurasia, Ranvir revealed that he was once involved in the biggest scandal of his life with a female actor.

He further added how during the same time, while shooting for the movie, Lakshya in Ladakh, he received a call informing about his mother's health and he lost his mother. Ranvir was quoted as saying: 

"During the same time (after his mother's death), I also encountered the biggest scandal of my life with another actress."

Ranvir further added that he wasn't able to cope with the tough time, so his brother called him to the US and he stayed with him for a while. Ranvir further added that he even pursued a six-month acting course in the US and borrowed money from his brother. He said:

"As I was unable to cope, my brother asked me to come to the US with him for a while. I pursued a six-month acting course in the US and borrowed money from my brother. After returning from the US, I started shooting for The Great Indian Comedy Show in 2005."

Ranvir Shorey and Pooja Bhatt's relationship

It was in the early 2000s, when Ranvir and Pooja first met each other, they instantly became good friends and fell madly in love with each other. They were in a live-in relationship during the times when it wasn't accepted by the society. Some even claim that Ranvir and Pooja had gotten secretly engaged. However, their relationship didn't last long, and they had an ugly breakup.

Why Pooja Bhatt broke up with Ranvir Shorey

It was reported that Ranvir and Pooja broke up as he was considered an abusive and alcoholic boyfriend. The breakup made headlines in those times. In an interview with Rediff, Ranvir admitted that they would had normal fights like a normal couple. Meanwhile, Ranvir also claimed that Pooja was the one, who would turn violent after drinking. 

However, things turned ugly after Pooja Bhatt filed a complaint against Ranvir. Pooja claimed that she was physically abused by Ranvir Shorey. In the same interview, Ranvir revealed that one day, when he was at Pooja's place and they fought, he called it quits and packed his bag. However, when he was about to leave Pooja's place, her brother came out with an iron rod and whacked his car and him. In his words:

"I was at Pooja's place. The usual scuffle ensued. I decided to call off the relationship things got out of hand. I packed my bags and left. When I slid behind the steering wheel of my car, I realised I had forgotten one of my bags. I started calling Pooja on her cell phone (groans). He kept trying to reach her. As I was dialling, I heard the glass shatter around me. I looked back to see that both windows of my car had been broken. I came out and saw Pooja's brother Rahul standing with an iron rod, and before I knew what happened, he started whacking me."
