Rashmika LANDS In Trouble After She Claimed To Be First Coorgi Actress, Netizens Say, 'She Is Not..'

Rashmika Mandanna is one of the most gorgeous actresses in the South Indian film industry. She made her acting debut in 2016 with the film, Kirik Party. However, the actress has recently landed in big trouble after she claimed to be the first actress from the Coorg community to enter the film industry. Rashmika’s comment didn’t sit well with the netizens, and thus, they slammed her. Later, popular actress, Prema, who is also from the same community, reacted to the same.

Rashmika Mandanna claims that she is the first actress from the Coorg community

Rashmika recently sat for an interview with Mojo Story. She shared how people judged her and what she had to deal with when she got her first paycheck. The Pushpa actress mentioned that people were judgmental because they didn’t see anyone from the Coorg community enter the film industry. Rashmika also claimed that she was the first actress to enter the entertainment world. In her words:

"Conversations back home when I got my first paycheck weren’t easy. Because, you know, in the Coorg community, nobody has ever entered the film industry. I think I am the first one in our whole community to have entered the industry. People were extremely judgy."

South Indian film actress, Prema from the Coorg community reacts to Rashmika's comment

Speaking to Koduga Express, a popular actress from the '90s and early 2000s, Prema reacted to the comment made by Rashmika. When asked about her take on the matter, she shared that the Coorg community, also known as the Kodava community, was aware of the truth. Prema mentioned that before she entered the entertainment industry, there was an actress from the same community who appeared in supporting roles. The Kanasugara actress also shared that there were also other actresses from the Coorg community who later entered the film industry after her. In her words:

"What is there for me to say? The Kodava community knows the truth. You should ask her (Rashmika) about her version of the statement. What can I say about it? Before me, there was an actor, Shashikala from Coorg, who played supporting roles. Then I entered the film industry, and later, many Kodavas have done well."

Netizens slam Rashmika Mandanna for her comment

Ever since Rashmika made a comment about people being judgmental, as she was the first actress from the Coorg community, netizens have seemed dissatisfied with her claim. One user wrote, "There are actors in Kannada who are from Coorg.." Citing examples of actresses who belong to the Coorg community, a user commented, "She is not the first from Kodava community ...before that many artists have acted like Prema, Nidhi Subbaih, Harishika Poonacha, Tanisha Kuppanda...." Bringing up the name of actress, Prema and slamming Rashmika, a user wrote:

"She is only the actress who tell lie in front of media and people … Statement “ she is the first actress who came from Coorg city… “100% false statement… There were more than 5 to 6 actresses who came from Coorg…. Even she not born when “Prema madam act in OM Kannada movie who from Coorg … which was blockbuster in Kannada industry… other then there was some other actress also … as I know rashmika was the last actress from Coorg… who debut in Kirik Party Kannada movie in 2016… her 1st movie in her career… the moive which give film life to her… And also one suggestion never forget ur root … and never talk and give false and fake statement to media & People…"
