Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta have time and again showcased their acknowledgement and respect for each other’s work and achievements. Sargun recently won the ‘Best Actress’ award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards, and it was her fourth time in a row. In 2018, when Ravi Dubey hosted Rising Star 2 and showcased his skills of rapping on the stage, his wife and the judges were surprised seeing his talent. Sargun couldn’t control her happiness and posted the video of her husband on Instagram. And with it, the proud wife wrote, “AISA KYA HAI JO TUM NAHI KAR SAKTE @ravidubey2312. Acting kari toh chhaye, comedy kari toh wahaan bhaaya, khatron ke khiladi mein darr bhi tujhse ghabraya, phir anchoring ki role mein tu dil mein utar aaya, AUR AB RAPPING KARI TOH TU POORI DUNIYA PE CHAAYA. In an interview with Famously Filmfare Punjabi, Sargun Mehta revealed her husband, Ravi Dubey’s ‘idea of romance’. She had said, “When he wanted to buy me a card for the first time, he went to an Archies Gallery. When he entered, he said, ‘Give me the best romantic card, please’. They gave him one. And he got it billed like this, ‘Hurry, bill it fast’. He kept it at the dining table at home and said, ‘I’ve brought you this, Read it’. He feels very, very embarrassed about all mushy things.”
Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta have an interesting journey from being reel-life jodi to real-life jodi and their love tale is worth a read. Sargun Mehta had said, “He is not a romantic guy at all. For him, to buy a card is also a big deal. He once went to an Archies showroom and was irritated looking at all the cards. So, he told them to give the biggest heart card, paid for it and gave it to me without even writing anything on it. It was our first Valentine’s Day. He had tried to make it special. On the top of the tank of his building he had placed a bed sheet, candles, champagne, glasses, flowers and cake. I took the card and asked him if I could recycle it for my next boyfriend since he had not written anything in it.”
In a candid interview in 2016, Ravi spilled the beans on being a father, and had remarked, “I’ll be honest. I want to be a father. But Sargun and I have different priorities at the moment. She is doing well in her career. A woman has to go through a lot of biological changes [when she becomes pregnant]. So I can’t put Sargun through that right now.
