The on-going Coronavirus pandemic has shut down majorly all the businesses and festivities. There was a time when almost the entire globe was under the lockdown, with people being shut inside their homes as this was the only option to stop the spread of the virus. However, life is now getting back to track with unlock 1.0, yet the wedding business has been affected severely. We live in a country, where a wedding needs to be at least a week-long celebration, inviting duur ke fufa ji ke bete ki biwi ki family as well. It is almost like we need to inform the entire world about our happiness. Big fat Indian wedding is no myth, however, now, this style of the wedding seems to be a far-fetched dream.

Due to the on-going pandemic, there have been several weddings that have been put on halt and there are many couples, who are desperately waiting for the normalcy to happen so that they can finally have a wedding of their dreams. For a dream wedding, we often think of pretty venues, lots of dance, all the relatives gathered, people gossiping and laughing, fancy outfits and lots of love. While most of the couples are waiting to be together, there are a few couples, who decided to make a path of their own and have a lockdown wedding, keeping the memo of 50 people per wedding and safety precautions in their mind. Here is a list of brides, who rocked their lockdown wedding wearing trendy matching masks and giving a major inspiration!
As we all know that red and maroon are auspicious colours, and they stand out on every bride. Ccheshtha chose a maroon lehenga from designer, Anushree Jain. Her plain lehenga with a double border made for a royal look. She also chose a plain maroon blouse with bordered 3/4th sleeves and a heavy banarasi dupatta. She completed her look with a similar maroon coloured mask with a gotta patti embroidery on its borders. She looked no less than a royal princess.
Bhavdeep Kaur is an influencer, model and stylist, who has now turned into an icon for all the lockdown brides. She has become an inspiration for all with her first pictures from her mehendi ceremony going viral on social media. Bhavdeep chose a yellow embroidered lehenga and according to her she didn’t want to wear a basic blue mask and thus went out to cut her blouse sleeves to convert them into a mask. For her wedding, Bhavdeep designed her outfit herself due to lack of time. She chose a red color Anarkali suit with a plain choli and heavily embroidered skirt and sleeves. The embroidery had motifs of elephants, peacocks and castles. Along with her outfit, she wore a matching red embroidered mask and looked ethereal.

The Punjabi bride, Gurpreet Kaur chose for a heavily embroidered red Anarkali suit with silver and golden floral work over it. Adding a mang tikka and a passa, she had looked surreal. Keeping the lockdown wedding in mind and the safety precautions that are mandatory, she finished off her look with a lightly embroidered similar red mask.

This bride went a step ahead as she and her husband, Benny twined their masks with a twist. The bride chose for a pinkish-purple mukaish work lehenga, while her husband chose for a velvet look beige-brown sherwani. The two gave their masks a major twist as they had their lips painted on their skin shade mask. On Benny’s mask, he had his beard painted as well. The couple gave their masks a cool look.

Jyoti is one bride, who ditched red and maroons and opted for a white mukaish work lehenga with frills at the border. Her partner, Sushant twinned with her in a white kurta Pajama with an ivory white Nehru jacket. The couple twinned their masks as well. Both bride and groom chose a white mask with leaf work embroidered on both the sides of the mask.
Neha had been dating the love of her life, Lakshay for a decade now and decided to get married during the lockdown in an intimate wedding. Neha opted for an onion-pink lightly embroidered lehenga with a heavy sequenced border dupatta. Her man, Lakshay opted for a black three-piece suit. The couple decided to wear matching masks with their outfits. While the groom wore a plain black mask, the bride had a mask made of a similar fabric as of her lehenga. She completed off her look with a heavy mang tikka.

Chaitali Puri got to marry her 6-year-old love, Nitin Arora in an intimate at-home wedding. As she couldn’t collect her wedding lehenga due to the lockdown, she decided to wear her mother’s saree and her nani’s vintage gold choker, doing her hair and makeup on her own. For their intimate wedding, the couple had to choose surgical masks as it was during the early days of the lockdown.
#8. The Swag Wali Bride
This bride and groom decided to not let any frizzy drink named virus hamper their happiness. The bride, Riti decided for a Punjabi outfit, wearing a long choli with lehenga in red colour with golden embroidery. While her choli-cum-kurta was heavily embroidered with golden work, she kept her lehenga plain with a broad border. Her husband, Amrit opted for a white kurta pajama with a red turban. The bride and the groom wore masks matching to their outfits. While the bride opted for a red coloured mask with dot-like work on it, her husband picked a similar sort white mask.

#9. The Stylish Masked Bride Tribe
This bride opted for a floral lehenga with a bralette blouse, setting trends with caution. The bride chose a mukaish work mask with a floral border matching with her outfit. She looked stunning with those eyes popping out. However, it was not her taking the precautions, her bridesmaid too looked glam, wearing matching masks with their outfits. This bride and her bridesmaid made us realise that together we can glam up the world and shine the brightest.
#10. The South-Indian Bride
This bride opted for a traditional South silk white saree with golden work and tassels on it. Complimenting his bride, the groom also opted for a similar colour tone dhoti kurta. The bride looked simple yet alluring completing her look with kohled eyes. What caught our attention was her beautifully stylish mask. She wore a similar colour tone mask which was cut according to her face shape and had tassels hanging over it. The groom chose a simple white mask with golden border.

Well, we are highly impressed with the way the lockdown brides took their fashion regime seriously and came up with some stylish masks for safety. Lockdown brides are truly an inspiration as they prove that love can conquer it all!
