You might know actress Rebel Wilson for popularly acting in comedy films like Isn't it Romantic, The Hustle, Bride Hard, How to be Single, and more. However, alongside her acting career, Rebel has also worked behind the camera as a director. She made her directorial debut with the Australian musical film, The Deb. While the movie premiered for the first time at the Toronto International Film Festival a year ago in 2024, the official release date for The Deb is yet to be announced following Rebel Wilson's ongoing legal battles surrounding the film. This also includes a lawsuit filed against her by Charlotte MacInnes, who stars in the upcoming film. On November 23, 2025, Rebel spoke up once more about her side of the story. Here's what we know.
Rebel Wilson recently appeared on 60 Minutes Australia on November 23, 2025. During her interview on the show, the actress opened up about the controversy where she reported an alleged sexual harassment incident involving producer Amanda Ghost, which took place during the production of The Deb. Looking back at her decision to report the alleged wrongdoings, she stated, “I felt that in my position as director, I had to report that. And the moment I did, [it] started all the kind of retaliation against me."

Although Rebel claims that the actress, Charlotte MacInnes, came to her with what she inferred as a sexual harassment complaint, Charlotte has repeatedly, through her legal team, denied she ever faced any form of sexual assault during The Deb's filming. According to her representatives, Rebel has continued to publicly spread these false accusations, promoting a legal notice to which Rebel will have 28 days to respond, either in the form of a correction or an apology. Charlotte herself also issued a statement regarding the same, stating:
"There is no truth to the allegations made involving me. I made a statement to the film team when this was first said in September 2023 and am saying this now to draw a line under it. Making false accusations undermines real victims, and I won’t be the subject of a fabricated narrative."

During the 60 Minutes interview, Rebel further claimed that Charlotte came to her to report how Amanda Ghost asked her to take a bath with her, which in turn made her feel really uncomfortable. When asked if Charlotte used those exact words that Rebel was recalling, the actress simply answered, “She told me she was uncomfortable, yeah.” Additionally, reflecting on the legal dispute, she stated:
"I think it's wild it's gotten to this point. I think it's a ridiculous waste of the Australian legal system. [MacInnes] reported something to me, I acted on it, in my position as the director of the movie, [and] I had an ethical, moral responsibility to do that."

According to 60 Minutes Australia, producer, Amanda reportedly had a medical reaction to cold water during The Deb's production, prompting as assistant as well as the film's lead actress, Charlotte, to take her to her home. Here, both Amanda and Charlotte allegedly warmed up in the hot water together. When journalist, Tara Brown, the one interviewing Rebel, questioned her about how she feels after Charlotte backtracked her allegations against Amanda, the 45-year-old stated:

"I think, when it gets into the details in court, I don't think anyone in their right mind believes that a medical incident occurred and Amanda Ghost needed the body warmth of an actress to save her life. It's just not credible."
