"Rekha Gupta kaun hain" is the question that has been dominating Google searches since Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced her name as Delhi's new Chief Minister. A legislature party meeting was held on February 19, 2025, in Delhi. After the meeting, it was Shalimar Bagh MLA, Rekha Gupta who emerged as the leader of the house and was chosen as the ninth and fourth woman chief minister of Delhi.

In a mega event at Ramlila Ground, the BJP MLA takes oath as Delhi's new Chief Minister. Slogans like "Sabko dekha, aa gayi Rekha" and "Jai Shri Ram" were voiced at Ramlila Ground amidst the sound of dhols and nagadas. Rekha Gupta was born in a Hindu-Vaishya family on July 19, 1974. Not many people are aware of the fact that Delhi's new CM has roots in Haryana. For the uninitiated, Rekha was born in Haryana's Nandgarh Village, which is in the Jind district. Her ancestral home in Nandgarh village is in the Julana block of Jind district.

Bharatiya Janata Party's MLA, Rekha Gupta's grandfather, Mani Ram, lived in Nandgarh, and it was her father, Jai Bhagwan, who got a job as a bank manager in Delhi. As a result, Jai Bhagwan left Haryana and shifted to Delhi with his family. Rekha Gupta completed her schooling in Delhi, and for graduation she took admission to Delhi University's Daulat Ram College. Rekha also has an LLB degree from IMIRC College of Law, Bhaina, Ghaziabad, which comes under Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.

During Rekha Gupta's college days at Delhi University (DU), she stepped into student politics after she joined ABVP in 1992-93. In the following years, Rekha was elected as secretary of the Delhi University Students' Union in 1995-96 and became its president in 1996-97. Right from the initial days of her political career, she has been associated with RSS and BJP. From being secretary of the BJP Youth Wing and national secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha to serving as general secretary of BJP Delhi, Rekha has been associated with the BJP since 2004.

Moving on to Rekha Gupta's personal life, she is married to a businessman, Manish Gupta. According to a report in Jagran, as per Rekha's election affidavit, Manish is into two businesses, one related to insurance and the other of spare parts. As per multiple reports, Manish has also worked as an agency associate at Kotak Life Insurance. The couple has two children, a son named Nikunj Gupta and a daughter named Harshita Gupta. While Nikunj is still studying, Harshita works with her father in his business.

According to My Neta, Rekha Gupta's total income shown in the ITR for the FY 2023-24 stands at the mark of Rs. 6,92,050. In FY 2022-23, it was around Rs. 4,87,850, and in FY 2021-2022, her income was Rs. 6,51,771. As per the same affidavit, Rekha has an estimated net worth of Rs. 5.3 crore but has liabilities of around Rs. 1.2 crore.

If we break down Rekha Gupta's net worth, she owns shares worth Rs. 9.29 lakh in Keshav Sahakari Bank and Hindustan Samachar Limited. In addition to this, she also owns a house in Rohini worth Rs. 30 lakh and one in Shalimar Bagh, the price of which is around Rs. 2 crore. The new Delhi CM also owns a Maruti XL6 car worth Rs. 4.33 lakh.
