We are talking about Ramesh Gopi Nair, aka Remo D'Souza, who was born on April 2, 1974, in Olavakkode, Palakkad, Kerala. While his mother was a housewife, Remo's father, Gopi Nair, served as NC (E) in the Indian Air Force (IAF). Not everyone is aware of the fact that Remo's father wanted him to become a professional pilot and serve the IAF.

Right from a young age, Remo D'Souza was superb in sports and physical activities. The ace choreographer even won several medals and trophies as an athlete in various races. However, he saw some dance videos of Michael Jackson during his growing years and instantly fell in love with him. As his interest in dance deepened every month, Remo started learning dance from videos. There came a point in his life when he told his parents about his dream of becoming a professional dancer. While his father was disappointed with his career choice, his mother supported him.

Once, in an old interview with DNA, Remo D'Souza opened up about his father and revealed that he wanted him to serve in the Indian Air Force. The doting son couldn't fulfil his father's dream because he wanted to dedicate his life to dancing. However, he also shared that his father was a chef at the IAF, and he always dreamt of opening a restaurant after his retirement. As a result, Remo D'Souza opened a restaurant named Ministry of Dance with three D's (Drink, dine, and dance) in Mumbai as a tribute to his father with a fusion of his passion for dance.

Besides owning a restaurant and having so many expensive assets in his name, Remo D'Souza is one of the leading choreographers in the country. He also made his father proud by achieving success in his dream profession. Back in 2016, when Remo D'Souza won the National Award, he dedicated it to his late father, who always wanted him to serve the nation. Remo shared that by winning the National Award, he had fulfilled his father's desire to see him win medals and trophies for making an impactful contribution to the country.
