Renee Nicole Good's GoFundMe Surpasses USD 1M, After She Was Shot Dead By ICE's Jonathan Ross

37-year-old woman, Renee Nicole Good, was fatally shot by an ICE agent, Jonathan Ross, on the evening of January 7, 2026. The shocking incident has sparked a nationwide debate, along with a controversy. Renee Nicole Good, as reported, was sitting in her SUV during an ICE operation when she was approached by the officers. She was reportedly given conflicting orders, with some asking her to drive, others to get out of the car. However, when she tried to move her vehicle, an ICE agent fired several shots.

Good was struck in her head, as reported by TMJ, which eventually claimed her life. Later, photos of the ICE agent, who shot her, surfaced, and he was identified as Jonathan Ross. While some tagged this situation as 'unnecessary and reckless', the Federal claimed that the ICE agent fired in self-defence. Following Renee Nicole Good's demise, a GoFundMe page was created for Renee Nicole Good, to support her family, her wife and son. The campaign was launched to help Good's loved ones, and within 24 hours, it received a USD 550,000 donation, with the amount now reaching USD 1 million. In the donation campaign, she was tagged as 'pure sunshine and pure love', and the initial goal was to collect USD 50K.

Who was Renee Nicole Good? All about her

Renee Nicole Good was identified by her mother, Donna Ganger, who described her late daughter as one of the 'kindest souls'. She, while talking to the Tribune, revealed that her late daughter had always taken care of everyone around her. For the unversed, Reene was 37 years old, and she was born in Colorado. She had no previous criminal records, and was a poet and writer, as known from her social handles. She studied creative writing at Old Dominion University in Virginia and completed her graduation in 2020 from the College of Arts and Letters with a degree in English. She also won an Academy of American Poets prize in 2020, as reported by The Guardian.

Apart from being a writer and poet, Renee was a mom of three. She had been married thrice. With her first husband, she was divorced, and they have two kids, a son and a daughter. On the other hand, her second husband passed away in 2023, with whom she shares a son, who is six years old. Renee was married to a woman named Rebecca Good.

The couple lived in Minneapolis, as reported. Reportedly, they used to run a repair business together called B. Good Handywork LLC. Renee was shot dead in front of Rebecca's eyes. Later, she blamed herself for the fatal death of her wife, as reportedly, she was the one to ask the late poet to join her in observing the ICE operation underway in their residential neighbourhood. When Renee was shot dead, Rebecca was reportedly heard saying:

"That's my wife, I don't know what to do!...I have a six-year-old at school... we're new here we don't have anyone...We need a doctor."
