South Korean singer-actress, Lee Hye Ri is one of the most renowned names in Korean showbiz. She rose to popularity as the youngest member of the K-pop girl group, Girl’s Day. Later on, Hyeri made a name for herself with her role as ‘Sung Deok Sun’ in the 2015 K-drama, Reply 1988. She then went on to star in some of the most popular K-dramas of contemporary times.
Along with her shot to fame with Reply 1988, Hyeri also found a home for her heart in her co-star, Ryu Jun Yeol, who played the role of ‘Kim Jung Hwan’ in the series. The 37-year-old actor gained immense popularity due to his role in the following drama. The duo subsequently confirmed their relationship in 2017, two years after they first met on the sets of their family drama, Reply 1988.

However, South Korean showbiz’s one of the favourite couples, Lee Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol, shattered their fans’ hearts with the saddening news of their break-up. On November 13, 2023, the media outlet, News 1 reported that the two had recently broken up after long consideration and decided to remain colleagues who support each other.
While fans of the Hallyu stars, Lee Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol were waiting for the announcement of their wedding plans, their breakup news completely disheartened them. Both Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol's agencies have confirmed their breakup. Hyeri's agency, Creative Group ING and Ryu Jun Yeol's agency, C-JeS Studio, made a joint statement to the media outlet, Newsen. The statement can be read as:
“It is true Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri have broken up.”

The news of the separation of Lee Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol after a relationship of seven long years has come as a shocker to the fans and their celebrity friends alike.
