RHORI Star, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli Reveals Why Her Husband, Brian's Infidelity Was Unexpected

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island is leading the headlines after the latest episode aired. One of the cast members, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, talked about her husband, Brian Pontarelli's, past affair and shared many unknown details about the same. During episode 2, Rulla shared how Liz McGraw texted her in December 2024 about Brian and his infidelity.

How did Rulla Nehme Pontarelli get to know about her husband, Brian Pontarelli's affair?

It so happened that Rulla received a text from Liz in the middle of the night containing a few photos of Brian with his mistress. The picture showed them kissing, with her sitting on Brian’s lap. Though the pictures were up on social media for 15 minutes, it was enough to garner attention. It was  Jo-Ellen Tiberi, who had known the other woman for some years, who had taken screenshots of the images and sent them to Liz.

After Liz told Rulla about Brian’s affair, she thought of confronting her husband, whom she had been married to for nine years. They shared two children, son Luca, 8, and daughter Laila, 5. Speaking about the confrontation, Rulla revealed in the latest episode that since she had the proof, Brian couldn’t deny the affair. In her words:

“I hung up the phone with her and, you know, turn to Brian, who was at home, and I said, 'Is there something that you want to tell me before I have to find out from Liz or anybody else?' He got a little nervous — a lot nervous — yeah, and it was a whole thing."

After Brian confessed to his affair, Rulla was torn apart. In the episode, she confessed to going ‘livid to numb to, like, tears’. Speaking on the RHORI After Show, Rulla stated that after the truth came out, she made sure to know about his whereabouts. On just this, the news of her husband, Brian’s, affair was a shocker for her, as she never expected it. Revealing the reason behind it, she stated:

“He was home with me. And he'd be around on the weekends, most weekends. He was home every single night. He never slept out. ... So, you know, you'd think maybe sometimes a guy will take a vacation, he'll disappear for a bit, he won’t call you all day, you know. It was very bizarre."

Amid the buzz around Brian’s infidelity and past affair, reports also claimed that he was arrested in 2025. As per a report in NBC 10, Brian was arrested in October 2015 after his wife, Rulla, accused him of putting a tracker on her car without her consent. In the state of Rhode Island, this offence is categorised as a misdemeanour domestic violence offence. But he pleaded not guilty to the charge against him, and his lawyer said:

“It’s an unfortunate incident. He’s a good guy. He’s a professional, and he’s hoping to rectify the situation with his wife.”
