Richa Chadha has been a part of the Hindi film industry for many years now. The actress is best known for her stint as 'Bholi Punjaban' in the Fukrey franchise. Richa recently wooed the audience by portraying the role of a sad tawaif, 'Lajjo' in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Amid all this, the actress has once again grabbed eyeballs with her cryptic social media post.
On June 11, 2024, Richa Chadha took to her IG handle and dropped a picture note along with some emoticons. The picture featured a quote, which can be read as "You started it - Karma." However, it was the note that Richa penned along with the post which grabbed everyone's attention. Atop the photo, Richa penned a cryptic note that reads:
"Scam artists, energy vultures, beggars, money stealers, liars, toxic coworkers and jealous losers. Hey, I wish I could say I enjoy your downfall. Instead I ask, sorry, who are you again? Drop, block and move on."

Though Richa Chadha didn't share who she was hinting at with her cryptic post, netizens were quick to connect the dots. They flooded the post's comment section with their reactions and pointed out that Richa was probably hinting at her Heeramandi co-star, Sharmin Segal. A user penned, "Sharmin... lol." Another commented, "The way I knew all her Heeramandi co-stars are toxic."
Sharmin Segal has been constantly receiving criticism for her acting stint in Heeramandi. Amid all this, her co-star, Richa Chadha, who plays ‘Lajjo’ in the web series, came out in support of Sharmin, after the negativity regarding the latter's acting turned into bullying. Earlier, Richa took to her Instagram stories and shared a screenshot of an X (formerly Twitter) post and penned a long note, slamming all those who trolled Sharmin. Richa also asked people not to take a few interview clips out of context and requested them to be kind to her co-star as it can affect her mental health.

Earlier, a video went viral on the internet, which showed the entire cast of Heeramandi posing for the paps at an event. The filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was standing in the middle next to his niece, Sharmin Segal, and Richa Chadha came to greet him. However, as soon as Sanjay and Richa greeted each other, the filmmaker was seen moving the latter aside. Not just this, he also dragged Sharmin closer to him in the centre, and while doing that, the filmmaker also planted a peck on her cheek.
The video went viral on the internet in split seconds, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sharmin received massive backlash. Many netizens slammed the duo for misbehaving with Richa, who was pregnant. A user commented, "I think Sharmin did move to the other side to let Richa stand with SLB, but he pulled her towards the centre, making the whole situation awkward." Another penned, "Hope SLB knows putting her centre stage in relation to Heera Mandi will only hurt her."
