Richa Chadha started out in the film industry about sixteen years ago and has starred in some of the major blockbuster hits of the Hindi film industry. More recently, she was seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Beyond her professional achievements, Richa’s personal life has garnered attention repeatedly. The actress, who married her longtime beau, Ali Fazal, in 2022, is expecting her first child with him.
On July 13, 2024, Richa took to her Instagram account to share a few glimpses of herself, along with an adorable note where she mentioned waiting for her baby to be born. In the first picture of the carousel, the actress was seen wearing a tulle dress comprising a pink one-shoulder top and a lilac-hued skirt. She rested her head on a table while she gazed at a flower kept on a marble showpiece.

In the next photo, the mommy-to-be was decked up in a blue dress paired with a sheer white shrug and blue flowers and looked straight into the camera with her piercing eyes. Sharing the two pictures, Richa penned that the wait has been lonely. However, the constant reminders, in the form of sudden kicks, made her feel that someone was listening. In her words:
“The discomfort is lonely, but it’s because am not alone. I have constant reminders in the form of a tiny wave of a movement, a knee, a sudden kick, a feeling of someone listening in... Waiting for a bud to blossom. Aaja yaar. #BabyRiali #alifazal #RichaChadha.”
Richa, who is due sometime in July, took to her Instagram account earlier and talked about the challenges she was going through in the third trimester of her pregnancy. She mentioned that she was going through insomnia, acid trippy dreams, backache, migraine, and weepy moods during the period. Sharing a few glam pictures of herself clad in beautiful ethnic attire, she asked her husband to come home soon in the caption. Richa penned:
“Third trimester comes with discomfort, insomnia, acid trippy dreams, backache, migraine, and weepy moods...so here's a little sneak from the past. Loved being exclusively in Indian wear through the promotions! #Latergram from promoting #heeramandionnetflix. Cuz the future will be better but the past is better than the present today LOLOL. It's been almost 2 WHOLE months but i am getting endless love for LAJJO. Hence, the smile. @alifazal9, come home soon. We got work to do, the house needs baby-proofing.”

Earlier, a report by Hindustan Times stated that Richa’s husband, actor, Ali Fazal, has been wrapping up all his work commitments so that he could be with his expectant wife during the last few weeks of the pregnancy. Ali, who was most recently seen in Mirzapur season 3, has been wrapping up his schedule for Metro…In Dino, Lahora 1947 and Thug Life. A source further mentioned:
"Ali has four to five days of shoot left for Metro... In Dino, and Lahore 1947 is almost up for completion. As for Thug Life, he will be wrapping up the majority of his shoot before he goes on break. Only one schedule of the film will be left post that, and Ali will resume work on it in August. It will be the first film that he works on after becoming a dad. He also has another film in the pipeline, which he will begin shooting for during the same time, however the official announcement of the film is yet to be made.”
