Ridhi, who seems to be thoroughly engrossed in her work at the moment, also signed an exciting project starring Pakistani superstar, Fawad Khan. For the unversed, the movie is titled Abir Gulaal and will feature Fawad and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. However, choosing to sign the project wasn't an easy decision for Ridhi, and she recently opened up about the same in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Talking about her worries at controversies potentially arising due to Fawad's nationality, Ridhi said:
"I am proud to be an Indian. Since my childhood, everyone has said that I will move abroad. Apparently, that's what my kundali (astrological chart) also says. But I don't want to move."
Despite her reservations, Ridhi Dogra decided to push forward and do the film anyway. In her conversation with Siddharth, she revealed that she was motivated by the realization that while watching a movie or a play, one notices characters and not the actors playing them. In her words:
"However, wherever a person hails from… I do not think there is division in art. Whenever we watch something, be it a play or a movie, we see only those characters. We don't ponder what the person's (the actor's) name is or who all are there in their house.
Although Ridhi Dogra had made up her mind to do the film, she revealed that one condition could have changed her mind. And that was the legality of working with someone who is a Pakistani national. Revealing that she would have refused the film if working with someone of said nationality was illegal, she said:
"The only thing I checked was if I was allowed to work with someone of the said nationality (Pakistani). And yes, our country and government give us permission. I did that homework. If that wasn't the case, I wouldn' t have done the film."
What do you think about Ridhi Dogra's revelation that she had doubts about working with Fawad Khan as he is Pakistani?
