In the year 2023, a series of youngsters introduced themselves to the Indian film industry. While some made their Bollywood debut, most of the rising stars were found in the OTT space. One such actor is Rohan Gurbaxani, who has garnered immense fame and recognition after working in the web show, Made in Heaven 2 and the film, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
Rohan Gurbaxani is indeed one of the few young actors, who impressed the audiences and received plaudits from the critics for their acting chops. However, only a few are aware of the interesting fact that the 26-year-old actor has already worked in Hollywood. He has shared the screen with renowned Hollywood actors like Bella Thorne, Julie Michaels, Olivier Richters, and the list goes on.

According to multiple reports, Rohan Gurbaxani completed his schooling at Indus International School. He went to the U.S. for his graduation and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. From training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute to learning the basics of television and films at Stonestreet Studios, Rohan gained much knowledge about acting and filmmaking.
With all the knowledge under his belt, Rohan Gurbaxani started auditioning for a series of films in the U.S., and luckily, his talent was recognised by renowned filmmakers like Paul Leyden, James Kermack, and many more. As per multiple reports, Rohan worked in a series of Hollywood films like Chick Fight, Knuckledust, Red 48, and Confession.

According to Rohan Gurbaxani's LinkedIn profile, he started his journey in the Indian film industry back in July 2016, when he started working in the pre-production team of Fukrey 2. Not only this, he was also a part of Rock On 2's production team. After this, Rohan was picked by the Academy Award nominee filmmaker, Ashvin Kumar to work with him in the production team of his film, No Father in Kashmir.
After struggling in India for four years, it was in January 2021 that Rohan Gurbaxani started working as an actor in a lot of advertisements and became the face of many brands. Finally, it was on August 10, 2023, when Rohan made his acting debut in the second season of the critically acclaimed web series, Made In Heaven. The Amazon Prime Video show made him a star overnight, as people fell in love with his character, 'Aman', who raised his voice against colourism. The actor was referred to as the 'greenest of the green flag' on the internet by a section of girls.
Rohan Gurbaxani's character, 'Aman' became one of the most loved characters of 2023, and a lot of its credit goes to the actor, who left no stone unturned in getting into the skin of his character. After the success of Made in Heaven 2, once in a conversation with the media, Rohan admitted that he had also faced a lot of criticism for his skin colour from people, and no one took a stand against him at that time. Hence, he was glad he could play a character, who stood against colourism.

Post the success of Made In Heaven 2, Rohan Gurbaxani once again grabbed eyeballs with his work in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. The actor shared the screen space with actors like Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Kalki Koechlin, Anya Singh, and Adarsh Gourav in the film. While his character, 'Rohan Bhatia' was one of the standout characters in the film, the story of how Rohan grabbed the role is a short film in itself.
For the unversed, Rohan Gurbaxani went through a two-round audition process that underwent for more than six months. The first time when Rohan auditioned for the role of 'Kabir' in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, he received a rejection call from the makers within a week. However, after some time, Rohan was approached again by the makers as the film's director, Arjun Varain Singh saw his acting in Made In Heaven 2.

The second time, when Rohan Gurbaxani gave an audition for the character, its name was changed from 'Kabir' to 'Rohan'. After giving an audition in front of the director of Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Arjun Varain Singh, Rohan jokingly told him, "Listen only a Rohan can play a Rohan". Although it was a funny statement, the very next day, he received a call from Arjun Singh's office informing him that he had been locked in for the role. It's incredible how Rohan got the role despite being rejected initially.
Well, it clearly speaks volumes about Rohan Gurbaxani's confidence in his acting skills. The casting of Rohan as 'Rohan' in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan turned out to be a success, giving a massive boost to his acting career in Bollywood. With such a solid start to his career in B-town, no wonder Rohan Gurbaxani has a long way to go, and we hope he continues to deliver such amazing performances.
