Ronit Roy revealed his 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' salary, and how he took way less than the lead actress, Shweta Tiwari.

Famous actor, Ronit Roy's journey from Bollywood to television was no less than an inspiration. As soon as he made his first appearance on television as 'Mr Bajaj' in Kasautii Zindagi Kay, his life changed, and people became his fans. From being the antagonist of 'Prerna' and 'Anurag's story, 'Mr. Bajaj' became the 'hero' and his 'salt and pepper' look made many in awe of him in the early 2000s. Recently, Ronit recalled his per day fees and how it was way before the lead actress, Shweta Tiwari's pay cheque.

Recently, in an interview with Hindi Rush, Ronit talked about his per day fees for the super hit show, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, which was below Rs. 2,500. When asked if his standard of living changed after playing a key role in the show, Ronit denied of any significant change. When he was questioned about his income, the actor stated it was good, as he got Rs. 1,800 to Rs. 2000. He said:

"Mera per day kuch Rs 1800 to 2000 tha. Bada ke kuch Rs 2400 kar diya."

It is worth mentioning that several reports from the time claimed Shweta Tiwari, the show's protagonist, was receiving Rs. 1 lakh per day. Coming back to Ronit, the actor revealed that he had calculated that even if he worked for 20 days a month, he would be getting a decent amount. He said:

"Mera calculation uss samay tha ki agar mai 20 din shooting karu inke sath. Toh Rs 2000 muje milte hai toh 20 din mai kitne honge. Mahine ka kharcha nikal jaata hai."

Further, in the interview, Ronit revealed that he earned the same amount for his role as 'Mihir' in the superhit show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahut Thi, which is all set to make a comeback with a 20-episode series. It is worth mentioning that Ronit was shooting for both of the shows simultaneously. Ronit recalled shooting nonstop for 7-8 days without returning home. His life revolved constantly from one set to another. He would share makeup rooms with male leads on the show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and lived for days on the sets.

Ronit was extremely satisfied with his pay cheques after 4-5 years of doing television. He would wait for the monthly cheque and calculate his earnings. He stated that he was eagerly waiting for a Rs. 1 lakh cheque, and it took a lot of time for him to earn it. He was quoted as saying:

"Voh lakh rupay ka cheque dekhne meri aakhe taras gayai thi. 1 lakh rupay mahine ka cheque nahi aa rha tha muje. Voh 97,900 tha. Bada time laga lekin ho gaya fir."
