The hunk not only has several actorial blockbusters under his name but is considered one of the wealthiest actors in Tinseltown, all thanks to his royal roots. For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan hails from the royal family of the Pataudis, whose roots align with the former princely state of Pataudi. His father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was an ace Indian cricketer and the team's youngest captain. At the same time, his mother, Sharmila Tagore, is a famous Bollywood actress and hails from the royal Tagore family of Bengal. Sharmila is the great-granddaughter of the legendary Rabindranath Tagore.
A Redditor recently took to the discussion platform and shared that there is an ongoing rumour stating that the junior Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan, has gone bankrupt and all his lavish lifestyle is just for show. He borrows money to maintain his expenses, and if he is financially struggling to keep things afloat. This post came as a shocker as Saif Ali Khan is doing quite well on the professional front, and even his wife, Kareena Kapoor, is at her top game in the industry.

Though this post is quite heavy and the topic is of grave importance, the netizens gace hilarious reactions to it. While a user commented, "Tara rum pum story getting real?" another stated that "Kareena stealing food from the sets of 'The Crew'?". This wasn't all, an user commented, "He is now saaf ali khan". Well, the post didn't only have funny reactions. Some even cleared the air and stated that this was an old rumour, that Saif Ali Khan was now affluent, and that all his financial worries were off the bay.
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh went their separate ways in 2024, and after the divorce, Saif had to pay INR 5 crore to Amita as alimony. In addition to that, he also had to pay 1 lakh every month to Amrita for their children's education. At that time, Saif Ali Khan did not have that kind of money, and he completely went bankrupt, paying for all those expenses that came along with his divorce from Amrita. In Saif's words:
“I’m supposed to give Amrita Rs 5 crore, of which I’ve already given her approximately Rs 2.5 crore. Also, I’m paying Rs 1 lakh per month until my son becomes 18. I’m not Shah Rukh Khan. I don’t have that kind of money. I’ve promised her I’ll pay up the rest of the money, and I will, even if I’ve to slog till I drop dead.”

Despite being a nawab, Saif Ali Khan shared that he had to earn the Pataudi palace with his hard-earned money. He revealed that after his father, Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, passed away, the palace was rented to Neemrana Hotels. Later, when I wanted the hotel back, the hoteliers wanted a lot of money in return, which I had to pay with my acting gigs. He added that the palace was not something he inherited but earned.
